LSVTEC line.....on B18C...???
« on: April 15, 2009, 10:58:34 PM »

ok, try not to get lost here....

"LSVTEC" head (P72 w/welded oil passage) on a B18C block that has the oil passage, and the PR3 headgasket.

will running a LSVTEC oil feed kit cause ANY problems in this setup? obviously not concerned anything with the head, cuz we all know thats gonna work just fine. question is on the BLOCK. is BLOCKING the passage in the block going to cause any flow/blockage/oil pressure issues or anything homo like that?

discuss...

i would think there would be a oil leak at the oil passage from the block.

but i have no experience with this.

true you would prolly have to plug the blocks oil supply to the head and then do the ls-v conversion.

that thought had crossed my mind also. but the headgasket alread holds that pressure back anyway.

Hey Dustin its Jordan. I bought collins LSVTEC hatch. I used his head on my sleeved GSR block and his head was pluged for lsvtec and then decked making it a huge pain in the ass to unplug..... So I didnt, I just bought the Endyn LSvtec kit and installed it in its place. I have not had any problems running it that way at all. My motor ran great before my tunner melted all my pistons. Endyn say the increase oil helps prevent wear on built up head by provideing more loobrication.  Hope this helps sorry its so long.
