ok wtf. D-series clutch/fylwheel help?
« on: April 28, 2012, 04:00:41 PM »

ok. so my swap came out of a 90 CRX Si. and i have a ACT H-023 pressure plate.... shit wont fit?!?!

pressure plate wont line up close to all the dowels. seems to be a little but bigger than the bolt pattern of the flywheel. my Bseries PP is even a little bigger than this one. wtf?

all D-series pressure plates (and discs) are the same 90-00?!?!

fuck i hate this project.

88-89 use a 200mm clutch, 90+ use 212mm. It's a Civic, crx, or integra, NEVER assume it has all it's original parts.

Before you go nuts, try all 3 angles with it. It will be close in 2 different positions, but only fit the third way.

swap was assembled when i got it. i compression tested it.

i spun that PP around 6 times. it seriously looks just a hare smaller than the flywheel.

Could you have an 88 flywheel/pp?  They were a different size.  I had that happen with my civic, bastard blew the engine and put a new one in (but engine was 88), and the tranny was 91, different size shit swapped around to make it work, made for a cluster fuck trying to figure out what was going on.

I had a 90+ flywheel, 90-91 pressure plate in the tprc with a prelude disc (different splines on the 1988 TRANS) and a rt4wd wagovan release bearing. Mike hooked that shit up lol.

**UPDATE**

Russ FTW. he hooked me up with a deal on a aftermarket 90+ flywheel. just double checked it with the ACT PP, and it lines up! the dowels are little big, or holes a little small, but easy fix...

now, back to the trans...
