Another trip to the track...... no 10.5 yet.
« on: September 18, 2012, 10:16:49 PM »

After running 10.93 @ 134 in July, I'm still on a quest for a 10.5. Went to riceboy day at our local track, not known for great track prep, but I went. Car is still sitting at 542hp, 2430lbs with me in it.

Some niggaz take their dog fishing, but I don't.

First run mis-shifted 2nd, and ended up 12.5 @ 125. 2nd run my ls/vtec oil line arc'd on the alternator 12v and put a hole in it, shooting oil all over the engine bay. I didn't know it, but when I shifted to 4th it went right to the limiter, but had intermittent traction so I stayed in it. It eventually caught grip and I ran 11.15 @ 137. A new high mph for me.

11.15 @ 137 run

Of course, a Stealthmode Performance ls/vtec line wasn't something I brought a backup of..  :P, so I had to switch to my backup whip. TTR-50

Going to a good track in October to finally get my 10.5. Until then, it's more monster pimpin the streets.  :noel:

Thanks. I know it has it in it, I just need to get all the settings right. Last year I was running 25x8.7 slicks and bogging first gear, but I know now that it was because I wasn't running anti-lag off the line. Now I'm on a 24.5x8, and I'm spinning first (need to lower pressure more), and it looks like I could use more boost in 2nd. A clean run, and I shouldn't have a problem getting 10.5

After that, I'm not sure what else I could do to this car over Winter.  ???

Keep at it you have enough power to get you there. BTW I resistantly learn that one could use Karcepts 36mm Swap Hubs and 04 tsx type s axles, a lot bigger and beefier then B -series axle and cheaper the DSS.

I'll keep it in mind, but I haven't broke any of my Napa axles for a long time.  :noel:

Taking pics of your car at a cemetery is tacky as fuck

If you can not break anything and drive right you will get a 10.5, maybe next time

Not having a car, a girlfriend, or a valid opinion is tacky as fuck.

At least they're still helpful, by providing a backdrop that reminds us of our history.

YOU are not helpful, yet you're a dead beat too. Strange...

put it on a diet with an aluminum exhaust.

Exhaust is all vband and removed when at the track.

I haven't corner balanced the car, but I've got a good alignment. I'd basically have to corner balance it every time I go to the track, because then I adjust the coilovers for the street.

Get some 900lbs/in rear drag springs for the track.

I'm pretty sure with my ability to street drive, show, and race this car, I'm not interested in doing anything more with it. My 10.5 will come next year with more track time.

I'm thinking this Winter and next Spring on focusing on getting my oldest (just turning 10 yrs old) into his own car, and having fun with that. I'll still do my car's thing too, and get to my 10.5.
