Shit looks bomb. A design with an under ground level garage/basement is bound for sickness.

Been busy roofing all weekend.  Got 40 square on the roof.  Running short on shingles will probably be closer to 54 square when its all done.

I'm always happy when its to lockup, nice to have rain/snow/tool thieves on the outside of the house.

Grade it so the slope isn't as steep.

I imagined a short lengthed wall with a graded slope.  Only cause ts what I'd do with my paranoia of water/steep grades making sloshy messes and moving shit around

More bath salts than anything.  I've had vacation saved up at work and take only half days at a time.  I'll work 6 to 10 at my job then I'm able to work on the house from 10:30 till it gets dark.  Also Saturdays and Sundays we get alot done.  It really sucks since the time change and now it gets dark at 5.

Yeah, I was wondering about that. It's dark when I go to work and dark when I get off.

House looks fucking good though.

House looks real good. I hate it when I get a house I'm building all dried in. Because it feels like progress comes to a grinding hualt. Because you don't really see visual progress like you do when your framing/drying inn. But the house looks bitchen. Are u subbing out sheet rock/wiring/plumbing?

Cleaned the house:

how the master bedroom turned out:

Starting on the aluminum trim. 10" facia makes the 18" overhangs look meaty.  Also did the non perforated soffit for that smoother look:

I'm putting recessed lights in the soffit.

Not sure about it yet,  I spaced them every 6'8" or every 5 rafters.  That's 25 recessed light on the outside of the house.  They are only 50W and are on dimmers.  Lowes has them for $9.98 each for the 3" gimble lights.  Not sure if I'm putting in too many.  Its usually the more lighting the better and since they are on dimmers they. won't burn up flood light power.  What do you think?  Light up the house or fuck it?

If you didn't use perforated did you put a vent anywhere?
I was always told you need to let air circulate under your shingles so they don't bake off.

We ran perforated with a vent at the peak. And if it was open ceiling with insulation right up against the roof, we put a little wavy spacer so air could circulate from the overhang, all the way up and out the peak on hot sunny days.

Always wondered if that was the right way.

All the soffit is vented.  Instead of the vents being perforated its in the seams.

Update with the soffit lighting:

Still need to add flood lights and the lighting for the porch then all the outside lighting will be done.

lights look good. I would suggest doing some speaker wire outlets on the outside of the house so you can wire it up and rock out outside with some indoor/outdoor speakers.

Progress has been slow because of the holidays with family in town and everything.  I'll post more pics tomorrow.  I just picked up my front door tonight and putting it in tomorrow.

Put the front door in today.  You can also see the finished porch roof and aluminum that is taking forever:

Mahogany wood door.  Hopefully it holds up over time and doesn't warp  :-\
