How long have you been building now?

Tomorrow will be exactly 3 years since I settled on the land, September 1st of last year is when the basement walls were done and we started framing so it's been a long process.  If I hired a builder it would have been done in probably 3 months but it would be nothing like what it is now.

The shower looks awesome. My bathroom had a huge tub and a tiny broom closet sized shower. I took the tub out and built a 5x6 shower with 3 heads and such. I have a hot tub in the back yard if I want to do that sort of thing

Looking tits! You look at doing a solar/PV system at all? Panel prices have come down a lot over the last few years, and there are still some govt incentives to make it more financially attractive...

Probably not.  With all the trees around and plus all the lightbulbs are LED, the heatpump is 18seer and I'll be burning wood for heat so the electric bill should be low

Thanks, I feel alot of people are going to be ripping out their big tubs for showers..it's definitely the way to go.  I just got the showeheads in.  I got some stupid 12x12 rainshowerhead with LED's that change color with the water temp.  It was cheap so I figured what the hell

We did the same for the rain head. The ex wife picked it out, I hate it cause it's a heavy stream and I wanted more of a mist. Looks cool though.

Why don't you just put a restrictor inline for the rain head? That'll save you some water and get the mist flow you want.  I'm the opposite, I want all showerheads to have the pressure they use to wash elephants

The holes are too big. I have a volume valve going to the rain head, just goes from a stream to drizzle.

My other 2 regular shower heads have plenty of pressure. I want the rain head to mist.

All bathroom vanities are in.  The guest bath, same cabinets as the kitchen:

Master bath.  2 30" vanities with a 24" drawer between.  Good quality, cherry wood, just not sure if I like the color yet. It's tough picking things out.  I think it'll all come together with countertops that'll hopefully come by the end of the week:

Also finished off the shower with some crown molding.  Used all PVC trim instead of wood so it the water won't mess it up:

The tub is set, caulked in and pretty much done:

I'm on the home stretch and running out of things to do.  Carpet is coming Tuesday.  I never thought it would get to this point but it looks like under 2 weeks and this bitch will be done.

I dig it, but that carpet would be so dirty so fast. Hope you don't have dogs or kids. Looking awsome though. Love the stonework on the outside.

Thanks.  It's supposed to be stain resistant but we'll see.  No kids yet but eventually and I'm more worried about a dog scratching the hardwoods than the carpet.  Hopefully we won't have a dog either

I have 2 golden retrievers, our hard wood floors look the same year to year despite my lack of keeping up with their nail trimming.

Looks tits! I've always thought it would be neat to try to make my own countertops with concrete. Some people have some pretty nice end products, and you can get a little weird and crazy with it if you want too

I have also thought the same. I'm gonna experiment with a concrete top coffee table soon, then try countertops if it works out

Yes I do agree with you.. Panel prices have come down in recent times and efficiency is lot higher... Nice power generation option.

Well winter is over so its time to start on the outside of the house.  Started on a retaining wall to transition the front yard to the basement:

Thanks, I'm glad progress is still moving along.  Started on a retaining wall in the backyard.  Also built a rock garden.  The house drain and the downspouts will be piped to discharge here.

Started cutting out for another retaining wall to eliminate the giant cliff and start blending from the walkout doors at the back of the house to the basement:
