I'm with him, I am doing a ton of fab work putting an f23 in my crx by making everything rather than buying a kit and if I had an a/c tig, I would make my own intake too, cause I really need a custom intake in my situation

Looks way better then what you have. At the same time, you got some badass fab skills why not just make a custom one!?

I got so much fab work to do on this thing. I gotta pick and choose my battles or its never gonna get done.

I seen your work, and I know you can do it!

Haha, ya, I can, but if this setup will give me the results I want, why build one?

The question becomes why not build one?

Partly because I still remember how much work this one was

Granted, one for the escort wouldn't be half as much work but i'd still like to leave it alone for now. I'll most likely build one later once I knock the present list out.

Went to the JY and got a stock GT manifold.

Upper Plenum.

Picked up a 75mm TB

Probably gonna shorten the runners up.

How much cheaper was the jy intake?

Got it for $20

Plenum to go on the stock lower was $150

Not sure if I like the setup or not. If I get it finished and don't like it, I'll just sell it and build one from scratch.

The runners are probably the only restriction at this point. I'm sure you could just chop the runners off and use the rest.

The casting for runners is thick as hell. I got lots of room to hog em out.

Nice!  I skimmed through and pretty much understood what was going on.  Manifold is pretty cool.  Both of em.   This thing is going to sound insane from idle to redline i'm sure.

Ive always wondered about how well the seal holds up in a wiggins. Seems like it would dry rot to fuck given the plastic/silicon abilities of most of the aftermarket suppliers, but thats just a guess.

I did a little looking around before I bought these. Guys on YB are using them with no issues that I could find. For as much as I'm going to drive this, I can't see it being an issue.

Anyone have a good source for direct port plumbing parts? I have a complete zex wet kit but want to turn it into direct port.

Need to get some shit ordered soon. I'd like to plumb the nitrous and the w/m injection while the engine is out.

I know summit sells parts individual if you find a zex manual ment for a direct port it will list all the part numbers.

I started pricing it out on summit but its going to be way more expensive than the kit I posted. I'll just need to get that kit and 3 more zex fogger nozzles.

I found another issue while I was working on it the other day. The manifold I'm working on is going to send the charge pipe right through my master cylinder/brake booster. So, the question comes now, do i abandon the manifold or rip out the master cylinder and brake booster?

The brakes on these suck ass so I was going to play with them anyways. Could do a pedal assembly like this.

It would give me alot of needed room in the engine bay but not sure how I feel about going to manual brakes.

The simple thing to do would be to weld a 45 bend on the manifold then the tb. Simple easy and best of all cheap if you can get away with it.

K.I.S.S.

BTW I still need to come down one of these weekends and maybe give you a hand or a kick in the ass to get you moving hahaha :noel:

Ya, i've already considered that and ruled it out as a possible solution. I think it'll look like shit. I'm kinda ocd about things looking the way I want them to...lol.

Flip the plenum or cut/flip/weld the ends to put the TB on the other side?

No room to run charge pipe on passenger side unfortunatly.

You could go dual piston firewall side. Thats what Im doing on the porsche. Still saves room and filling fluids doesn't become a mystery.

If you still want power brakes and want the room, yoink a hydraboost off of a mustang, or go full baller with an electronic booster.

Ya, it would definitely be a bitch to fill em mounted like that. I could mount the reservoirs out on the firewall.
