It's a tig torch cooler. Not a tig welder that he built. It circulates cool water through your tig torch to keep it cool so your hand doesn't get as hot when welding.

Ya, its just a cooler. I don't have water in my new garage yet so I needed a cooler. Coolers from places like Miller or Lincoln can be up to $800. Fuck that shit. I'll have like 99 dollars in this.

Got the cooler done. Works like a  :mexi:

Actually started working on the car too. Figured i'd start by finishing the fuel rail I started on 2 years ago.

Turned some mounts in the lathe and got to try out the milling attachment I just got. Works pretty good.

Decided to countersink em for some socket head bolts and got em welded on. Don't know if i'm just rusty or what but they were a bitch to weld on.

Gonna start fitting the tranny to the engine this week. Once thats done, it should be pretty smooth sailing.

Cleaned the rail. Doesn't look too bad.

Pulled the throttle body apart and welded on the chiggins clamp.

Haha....thanks man. I'll keep the updates coming. I might just get this thing running before summer.

Anyone know where to get a vband flange for the holset housing? Searched around and couldn't really find anything. Might just make one that adapts to 4".

Probably gonna run a 4" downpipe out the side if the bumper  :noel:. Eventually like to run 3" all the way back and make it so it's easy to throw on the 4" downpipe at the track or when I wanna be an asshole.

Anyone fuck around with anodizing?

I have a shit pile of AN fittings left over from the Nova build and the old escort. bly everything I need for this build. They are the red/blue ones. I want all the fittings to be black so I was thinking about stripping them and re-anodizing them.

I've been wanting to start anodizing for a few months. The main "secret" tips seem to be not over-anodizing it (won't accept dye), clean & etching it (better dye retention & less bloches), and sealing it via steam instead of submerging. The people that have tested DIY setups claim there is no difference between an adjustable lab PSU and an old PC PSU, just make sure it's 12-15v and can supply enough amps.

Re-anodizing is more complicated, especially for parts with machined tolerances. Stripping can use the same stuff as the etching process, but you need to keep an eye on it. Partially stripped parts obviously won't accept dye in various spots, over-etched may remove too much material.

One interesting thing with it being winter soon, anodizing tends to grow thicker/harder coatings when the bath is a lower temp.

Good info. I think I'm gonna try using a battery charger first. Just because I have one.

Didnt get a whole lot accomplished today. I spent most of it running around trying to get my argon bottle filled.

I did get that the gates mounted though.

Need an update!

Thought RHMT was dead! I'll update this soon. Been working to get my Nova finished and it's almost ready to go to paint so I'll be jumping back on this soon. Think all I did since this last update was get the fuel and water cells setup. I'll post some pics later.
