Cheap parts store distributors?
« on: January 06, 2014, 09:08:58 AM »

The girl I bought my crv from had a new distributor put on by Pep Boys not long before I bought it. I'm not a fan of the cheap parts store distributors but it runs smooth. Anyway, I did the timing belt a couple weeks ago. The cams are spot on, but the distributor has to be pretty far advanced to show right with the timing light. Anyone ever had them like that?

Yes, I've done a few that was just about maxed out on the adjustment to get the base timing correct.

Ok. Makes me feel better then. It's advanced about the amount of a cam gear tooth. I need to get a real Honda distributor for this thing. I have never been excited about this one.
