Figured I might as well share what I'm trying to slap together this month.

I bought it

cheap for the pile of parts that came with it.
Almost sold it a few times and then started throwing parts at it.

1988 gutted and painted retarded pink, no rust, not a straight body panel on it.
top mount
Borg S400
corn fuel
84.5mm B18B with a GSR head
Tom's 2000cc Fuel Injector Development injectors
bunch of other parts I'm picking up as I go.

The list of parts that needs ordered is down to a twin disc, seat, harness, catch can, couple fuel fittings, and the misc shit that pops up.
Intercooler and charge pipe should be in mid week
Traction bar and cage should show up later this week
sleeved block is at the machine shop getting final honed, decided to have them line hone a girdle in so that may take another week
head is done
trans is ready to go back together, stock gsr gears carbon synchros, quaife lsd
Have a couple plastic totes of parts waiting to go on I'll take some pics of if I get a chance.

This car is definitely 10 lbs of shit in a 5 lb sack.

Bought it. Was told it was a synapse. Fits pretty well, just have to grind the power steering bosses from my built head haha.
And you can see what happened to the headlight bucket.

Please leave it as is. The pink paint and beat up valve cover are great with the giant ass turbo, it really shows people your priorities are in the right place.

I don't know if anything I do epic... Maybe if I can pull this off in 3 weeks without my wife divorcing me haha.

Had a rough weekend of wanting to do work, but waiting on parts.
Got plenty of pictures now, but when shit comes in and I start putting hours in I'm sure there will be lack of progress pictures so enjoy them now.

Local machine shop made some solid inserts out of 6061 for me, they were a perfect press fit.

Traction bar came in so I could cut the rad support off the rest of the way.
Was having trouble estimating where the front end should be for intercooler fitment, so I decided to throw the hood on.

Had minor clearance issues...

Should be able to make a nice back door tank for this hopefully.

Going to have to hack up my nice top mount so the wastegates clear the intercooler.

I love the way the hood and turbo fits, I'm think of doing the same and paint the turbo housing the same color as the hood make it less obvious.

I don't know if I would trust that ebay traction bar without doing some molding to it to beef up the spots where it mounts up. Needs to bolt up to more than just the tow hook nuts.i know it has some angle iron brackets but they are kinda flimsy.

I don't know if they're rebadged, they don't look like the innovative or the esp, but I do know I was disappointed when it showed up.
I guess I expected it to be beefier, tabs are only welded on one side and its overall light as hell.
I'll see what I can do about making it stronger when I put the cage in and do all the other fab.

Worked out a deal with my old neighbor. He's going to install my cage and weld up all my charge piping/intercooler parts in exchange for me doing a timing chain job on a Ford Explorer Sport Trac v6.
Its some piece of shit that he got conned into fixing and he wants no parts of it. He already pulled the engine and printed a service manual for it so I'll dig in.

He has access to a waterjet at his work, my intercooler end tanks just got way less ghetto.

Got pushed in front of a couple other cars, so the cage is starting to go in.

Got the bar burned in the rear strut towers.

Got the seat bar, halo, and rear down bars burned into the main hoop.
His plan is to leave it loose on the body so he can move it around to get 100% around the top welds, then do the floor plates last.

I forgot to ask the inspector if this main hoop placement was legal, so I may have royally fucked myself.
Most of the pics I saw searching were located there, but in the end its up to him so I put a call into him this morning to see if I'm fucked or in the clear.

Traded labor for part of the fab, doing timing chains on a ford explorer sport trac, 4 chains seems a bit over complicated but as usual google answers all.

Talked to the inspector, he said as long as i have a 6x6 plate I'm good.
I could terminate the main hoop into the floor by the seat, up on the shelf like I did, or into the rockers he doesn't care.

machine shop still hasn't done the block
cage guy seems to not touch it unless I'm there
haven't made the time to finish the charge piping etc.

I did get a couple cable to hydro brackets made that should work great. Think one more tweak and I can make a batch of them to sell. this version will work good enough for me though.

Way behind, need to just lock myself in the garage and finish this.
Problem is I lined up too much side work to pay for parts.

Cage finally burned in and the car is back in my garage.
Probably overkill but its done and was cheap.
Still need to mount the seat.

Decided to do away with the Hasport cable to hydro bracket and mount a clutch master under the dash.
Drew this up and had a batch cut on a water jet.
Similar to existing versions but selling it cheaper, already have a few orders.
