EG F2B Turbo :)
« on: April 04, 2014, 01:01:21 AM »

Hi.

I was told to join this forum. I have lurked for many years. Then The Wizard convinced me to join.

And here we are today:

Being that there is few people who I have found who ventured into this realm, I am having some issues.

At first, The manifold and turbo clearing the block. After hours of research, I ordered a 4 bolt Turbine Housing instead of the 5 bolt. Suppose to gain 3/4-1" of block clearance.

Now, I am having alternator issues. Originally it was with the AC spot. Now I need to move it up to allow clearance.

Talked to ESP about a alternator bracket relocation. But, I think I can get a 89-91 D Series 3 rib on their with a little frame massaging. Waiting on an alternator.

Here is a package I sent JD. :)

Well, its been alittle while since I have updated this. Been super busy chipping ecu's and making harnesses along with my daughter growing up and getting married in July.

Anyways, some asshole stole a pair of my Jmags that were on the rear while I was doing my rear disc.

Also, got a stellar deal on the HKS Hipermax Pro Coilovers from Battle Monkey. They were super mint. Appreciate it man.

Threw them on, finished up my rear disc.

Got a stupid deal on EBC Slotted rotors and EBC pads ($80). Replaced all the rear calipers and brackets too.

Got everything mounted up and put back together.

Also, traded straight up for a Kevlar Duckbill. My carbon one came with the car so... FREEBIE!  :)

Anyways, thats about it for now. Got the PLM seat rails put on and Sparco Mounted.

For the record, I wouldnt buy another seat rail from PLM if my life depended on it. Fitment was pure shit.

Switched directions unfortunately.

Got tired of sinking money in the Hatch and never driving it. Mainly because didnt feel safe enough for my 11mo daughter to be in. (People in my city are extremely aggressive and shitty drivers.)

So, I went back to an EG Sedan. Sold off the hatch and picked up a F2B Sedan.

Just finished 5 lug as well.

Here is some progress pictures:

Day 1

Today:

Difference:

HKS Hiper Pro Coilovers
ASR Brace
36mm 5 Lug

Had a chance to pick up a couple of cans of SEM Interior Paint/Dye.

Took all the upper panels out and got them set up for black.

Also picked up a Recaro Lemans SRD Seat aka Confetti.

Not much else new since I have an ongoing sinus infection. Waiting on new carpet and rear lca's.

^hey hey. actually going to be using your writeup(s) shortly for heated seats and rear edm foglight (real one, not poormans.).

Anyways, havent really updated this thread in a little bit.

Got some EK Sedan sideskirts for it.

NRG QR and Short Hub are on order. Waiting on my wheel to come from Japan.

Ceelx's rear edm fog light landed. Just waiting on switch.

Still trying to hunt down some mid offset 15/16" 5 lug wheels. Not having a huge amount of luck with finding the perfect set.

Pictars!

New EK Sedan Skirts. NO CUTTING REQUIRED. 2 front and 2 rear holes mounted perfect, Only modification needed was the last rear underpin needed to have a hole drilled 1" further towards the center of the car.

Also, instead of painting, used Turtle Wax's Trim Restore. Dont like the feel of painted shit. Doesnt look legit.

Been super busy over the holidays and today being my daughter's birthday. She turned 1 today. :)

Anyways, my super awesome wife got me the missing piece to my puzzle, a NRG QR. Everyone should have a wife like mine. :)

Went the extra step to make sure my horn works as well for those asshole drivers. ;)

So without further ado:

So, its been quite a while since I have updated this. Only alittle bit of has changed.

Got the engine bay cleaned up quite a bit.

Sent the hood spacers and valve cover off to get powder coated to match J's Racing Color. :)

Picked up a Skunk2 Intake Manifold and bought a 70mm Skunk2 Throttle Body and Thermal Gaskets.

Just finished port matching the Intake Manifold to the TB. Hopefully this weekend they will go on.

Got a ferio wing coming this weekend and trying to track down a EG9 cluster.

Couple of pictures from then and now:

There is a K&N that fits over the stack in the back seat.

I have yet to find a plug to fill the hole in the pipe yet. Been to Home Depot and Lowes and a few hardware stores. No grommets as of yet. :(

Also, its a F20b so, F2B.

Its awesome man. Itll spin 1/2nd with matting it to the floor. Fixing to put this on there:

Got some work done this past weekend.

Got the intake manifold port matched and cleaned up the castings on the runners.

Ended up with:

Skunk2 Intake Manifold
Skunk2 70mm Alpha TB
Skunk2 Thermal TB Gasket
GE Thermal IM Gasket

Had to get alittle creative with the fuel rail as I retained the stock setup. Ended up boring out the holes in the fuel rail so the mounting studs would go through.

Then had issues with the studs being too long and not threaded enough. Solved that issue with some creativity and "cool" points.

Aside from that, definitely tell a difference. Throttle response is 100% better (had a idle issue prior).

Also scored a spoiler. Not the real deal, but for $50, why not?

I like the sway bar end links that are holding the fuel rail down. Pretty creative.

Still have alittle trimming and cleaning up to do.

Havent updated much yet, been busy.

Had some issues with the factory prelude alterantor fitting.

So, I read somewhere on the internet that a CD Accord F22 Alternator bracket was lighter then a Factory Prelude Bracket.

Picked one up at LKQ for $12. It is MUCH lighter then a H22. Also, without obliterating my frame rail, I had to switch alternators.

Ended up with a 3 rib 89-91 Civic.

I called a company, which will remain unnamed about their bracket. Guy told me I would have to buy his special bracket, QSD BS Kit, and all this trimming and shit.

Fuck that. Measured how much clearance I needed, went to AZ and found my alternator. Couple of hits on the frame rail, and my alternator fits. Its tighter than a virgins gash on clearance, but it works. $80 < $300.  Went from 90amps to 60amps, oh well. Because turbo.

And my favorite Czech.

Thanks Man!

I had those sitting on a shelf for the better part of 4 years now. I use to own a AE86 back in the day and was planning on using them. Then sold it for way cheaper then I should have.

They are actually Truck Bushings for a Skateboard.

Since I put my Precision 680's in though, I removed them as the werent needed.

Decided to make the injector subharnesses clean up a bit.

New lighter F Series Alt Bracket

H22 Alternator fit like shit.

New one fits like a fucking beaut.

New turbing housing to clear the block. (Manifold was designed for a 4 bolt and not a 5 bolt.)
