what turbo???  -4 is too big. -3 is cool for a journal bearing turbo, They reccomend a .065 to .100 for journal bearings...

I actrually talked to a garett engineer and he told me .035 is fine for BB CRHAs.

the sizes given are pretty much flat rate across the turbo world so some may some may not run them
never hurts to have a bit of restriction

Ive always used -3 lines and .065 restrictor on everything ive cared about. Everything else got the good old 3/8" fuel line with a 1/8" mnpt cap shoved inside it with a 1/8" hole drilled in it. And yes I would run a restrictor on a holset. I dont know about you but at 7500 im pushing close to 85psi of oil pressure.

Im running a -3an to 1/8npt fitting, then 1/8 to 1/4npt converter, into 1/4 by 12X1.5 fitting on the holset.
I don't think it needs a restrictor, this is on a HX35.

JBweld restrictor ftl, I've chowed a turbo because the jbweld inside the fitting came loose and plugged up the hole. Now I tap threads into a fitting, thread a set screw into it with red locktite, and drill a .060 hole in the setscrew.

Take a riviet, remove the shaft and drop it in the line.

Blammo.. Oil restrictor.

Also seen guys use washers from rivets...no issue

worked for me, just make sure to use a rivet out of whatever material your fittings are

i bought a 1/4 npt needle valve meant for hydraulic applications,  simply adjust to your needs.  perhaps i will use some kind of pressure gauge to tune the oil flow when my project is ready
