well my brand new turbo is smoking, will it be the oil drain? heres a pic

i have a adjustable oil restrictor on the feed line which is 3/4 closed and it still smokes at high RPM. With the restrictor half way closed it smoke on idle. lmk what u think. thanks

Whats your oil pressure at?
Are you using a fram oil filter?

Also what turbo are you running and how much psi, if its ebay and u r running over 15psi i wouldnt be surprised that it is smoking. Also im not a fan of the adjustable restrictors just my 2 cents. Also is your turbo sucking the air in front of that alternator or is it below it and the picture is deceptive?

turbo is a real garrett t3t4 60 trim and using s2000 oil filter. only running 10psi and turbo is below that alternator.

They flow like complete shit and cause ultra high oil pressure.

Interesting read that confirmed what I always knew about Fram's crap. BTW sidenote the KNN filter is just Mobil 1 filter with a 1" nut on the end for easy removal and provisions for safety wire. ;D

What size feed line?

And we're going to need a better picture than that. The drain line itself may be ok, but the angle of the turbo might be off.

In other words are you using a catch can or just stock pcv system?

feed line is 3an with that adjustable restrictor and as for the pcv system, both pcv and vc port to catch can inlet and just a breather filter on the outlet of the catch can. the angle of the turbo is not straight down but kinda clocked a little bit.

The way you decribed the pcv system it sounds like you still have your pcv valve there. If so you need to get rid of that shit

Yea I still have da stock pcv valve connected to the catch can, I guess ill take it out and see if it helps.

Ok well then you need to do a few different things. First get rid of the adjustable oil restrictor, then fix pcv setup, after that punch yourself in the nuts, once done with that you need to post porn before anyone else will help you any more
