I plan on doing this in the future since I work in a non-ferrous foundry but I'm still learning about pattern making because that is the most expensive part of the process.

BTW can anybody get me a copy of solidworks or similar for free?

I did some basic casting when I was in metalworks in grade 9.

shit is hard to do by hand( the pounding the clay sand into the mold part)

In reality with so many of people in fields like this going belly up the possibilty of doing small runs of for example 50 is a real possibility.

The chinesse want you to buy hundreds of parts with no samples of the part 99 percent of the time.

Hence why we saw the same ssautochrome manifold for 2 years before they actually put that little brace on it. Whoever imported them bought 5000 of the bastards.

There is a warehouse in the bay area that really shows the volume you have to buy these parts to make any money+have 10,000 sq ft of warehouse space. Basically only the rich Asians run the importing game.

I get great pricing on alot of my stuff done here but again even here orders of 50+ of smaller parts are a buddy buddy deal. In reality there isnt enough people in this country anymore that are creative enough to come up with products.

My father who is an electrical engineer is almost kinda confused I have created products with an old redneck with a high school education and the shit works. Society in America tells you sadly you need to spend your life in books before you can actually try something.

Failure/chaos are needed I hope people will get that concept again.

I disagree. There's a lot left to be created, and every market that has ever existed didn't happen just because the invention came along - it happened because someone educated the public that they needed the part. This is why HT exists. A lot of what is sold there is rubbish, but if you look closely there's some simple shit masquerading as high end gear that the average guy with work ethic can home fab for fifty-nine cents.

My buddy actually does cast parts for Ford 'cammers', shit you just can't find otherwise. He makes out pretty good despite low volume, since he found a good deal in China. I think he piggybacks orders like chris said, because I've never seen over 2 dozen parts in one box before.

Homemade parts are cheap, until you factor in time. Still it's cheaper because most people don't make >$50/hr. Some people do, or are such limp-wristed fags that they need other people to do it for them.

whats wrong with the injector angle? I dont see anything wrong with it, looks like a pretty standard angle to me, and, possibly, with the ITB's and low vacuum, maybe he was going with a steeper angle to induce more turbulence in the fuel mist for more atomization...

He was probably thinking about carbs when he angled them, since most accel pump nipples are a real shallow angle. However they aren't pressurized either. From what I gathered, he's probably going to make another, if not a couple, and incorporate lots of changes with it.
