I bought some BernzOmatic brazing rods for aluminium.

It works pretty well on thin sheet. I welded to pepsi can together, but haven't tried on thicker metal for now.

Post pics... My Alumaloy (durafix) came inthe mail today ,i am gonna do a pressure test with some scrap intakes.

There is my first try. I didnt really know how to do so result is not super nice. I didn't clean the cans too.

Rod are 3.50$ for 2 so I didnt want to put 1.75 to weld 2 cans together $:-\$

The trick is to get the pieces you want to weld very hot then put the rod on it. Once the fusion bath is done it's pretty easy to move the rod to weld the pieces together.

Canadian Tire, in the welding and soldering section. It comes in bag of 2 rods, but I used like 1/3 of 1 rod to weld the cans together.

There was also a little gab between the cans. That's why you can see some hole. Still very strong. I can't brake it even if I strongly twist the can.

Alumaloy / Durafix is Fail.. I tried it this weekend along with Ktownpowercoat on an aluminum intake.

it works for pop cans and that's about it.. You need a real torch to get anything thicker then a pop can hot enough to work the material.. We tried both regular propane and the yellow stuff..

neither worked on intake pipe...

so if you want to weld pop cans together this is def the product to get..

i think most people are using the mapp gas with a torch head like the first pic. but i think it has to be for mapp gas.
i use a two part mapp and oxygen torch for my heavy brazing ok all my brazing. a little butane torch worked for me for doing some real thin sheet metal with flux and silver solder

hell... do the bbq trick. lite your grill... get it nice and hot... throw it in. wait till it gets hot as fuck... and braze away. saw it on some website about a supercharged wrx?

My dad has a set of these (similar to it) baby torch and it works great. It's just annoying because you need to fill them more often.

I've seen the BBQ thing too, it was cool. You could probably just heat up the pieces you want to braze in the BBQ and use a normal torch after that. The problem is that the aluminium is so heat conductor friendly you can't use normal torch without heating it forever.

If you heat it to 200F, I think the normal torch would be enough to heat it at the good temp.

If you used lugged/slip brazing like one uses on bike frames it would work great. You can even work with different materials if you go that route like steel lugs/ aluminum pipe but aluminum doesn't braze well and when it's lugged it's usually epoxied.
