So I was busy browsing rhmt this morning like always, and one minute it is there, the next minute it wouldn't load. I blackberry message Jay, he says its still up, I check with my blackberry it is still there. So I use the first proxy I can find, and then did a search as I knew complex had posted up a good one at one point.

Back in business! For a few moments there I was trying to picture what I was going to do with the normal 6hrs of boredom at work that rhmt normally soaks up.

mIRC, instant messengers, utorrent, and some good websites are blocked here, so I use SSH tunneling for the blocked ports so I can use any of the software, and for web browsing I just open a remote desktop.

Everything else still works here other then a few select websites. I still have msn, other people in the office still have face book. ect... it is really lame, and I am going to have a meeting about it.

Be careful, just incase your IT dept. isn't a bunch of total idiots. Accessing proxies can make you look suspicious, but they might be lazy or just dumb.

I called a meeting with the two main owners and said WTF? Everyone swears they didn't touch anything, or have it changed. I even called the IT company and talked to our IT guy. Any other possibilities of why it would just stop working other then through a proxy?

I don't care if I look suspicious, They can come and look at what I am doing my door is always open, and I am at this place 10hrs a day. The only "higher" position in this company is to be an owner.

What happens when you try to browse to the page? It's not blocked at my job for some reason...and the only reason it'd work on a proxy but not where you're at is either because it's being blocked or because of a DNS problem.

Try going to this:
http://216.45.56.92

If that works, it's a DNS problem. If it doesn't work, your IT department or whoever is above them and handles the network has blocked it.

When I try to browse it "this link appears to be broken" It works on my vpn side that connects us to the main branch, but it is so slow to surf from there.

Yeah that's the IP addy of RHMT, and I guess the host.

Before you go on a warpath try it from another PC just to be sure, but it sounds like whoever handles your local network blocked it. Could be other things I'm sure, but...

You mean the ones that lost anything that made them unique or more specifically suited to particular jobs when they switched over to ~~Intel~~ Windows processors? At this point they are computers for idiots... they are easier to use because they only have one mouse button, you know.
