Pg 22 of the Health Care Bill MANDATES the Govt will audit books of all employers that are self- insure.
conducting a study =/= auditing the books of.
Pg 42 The Health Choices Commissioner will choose your benefits for you. You will no longer have a choice.
the word benefits is mentioned nowhere on page 42. what document were you looking at?
PG 50 health care will be provided to ALL non - US citizens, illegal or otherwise
fail again. it's about not discriminating against people for genetic defects, and it clearly states that it does not supersede any state regulations regarding discrimination. it says nothing about immigrants, period. again, what document are you reading?
Pg 58 Government employees will have real-time access to all individuals finances and a National ID Health Card will be issued (this may case more problems with identity theft).
LOL! we ARE reading the same document! one of us is just taking a lot more liberty in what we think it says.
what it REALLY says is that gub'ment employees will have real-time access to YOUR FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY on a case by case basis. they do NOT have access to your finances. i'll say it again so the slow learners can understand: THEY DO NOT HAVE ACCESS TO YOUR FINANCES!!!!!!
Pg 59 lines 21-24 Government employees will have direct access to your bank accounts for electronic funds transfer (as specified)
this is no different that my electronic funds transfer for my student loans. whoopdy shit. if you prefer to pay by check, you can. electronic funds transfer IS NOT A REQUIREMENT. the only REQUIRED electronic portion is the ability to sign people up.
PG 65 Sec 164 is a payoff subsidized plan for retirees and their families in Unions & community organizations (such as ACORN).
it's to assist participating employers in helping cover retirees and their families so the employers don't have to shoulder the burden themselves and become financially insolvent *coughGMcough*.
PG 84 Sec 203 mandates ALL benefit packages for private HC plans in the Exchange
no, it doesn't. you (or whomever interpreted this for you) missed the words "EXCHANGE-PARTICIPATING." it mandates benefits for those participating. it DOES NOT MANDATE PARTICIPATION.
PG 85 Line 7 Specifics of Benefit Levels for Plans. (rationing)
remember, you can buy your insurance elsewhere if you don't like these benefits. this DOES NOT specify benefit levels for non-participating private insurance companies.
pg 127 Lines 1-16 Doctors - The Government will tell YOU what you can earn.
no, the secretary will establish rates using rates paid for comparable services under medicare, with participating physicians making ~5% more for being 'preferred' providers. this does not dictate what private insurers pay doctors, it sets a payment schedule for participating doctors through negotiation and using current, comparable rates.
Pg 126 Lines 22-25 Employers MUST pay for health care insurance for all part-time employees AND their families.
there is nothing of this sort on page 126. sorry.
Pg 170 Lines 1-3 all non-resident aliens are exempt from individual taxes.
this one isn't particularly fair, i'll grant that. but it doesn't mean that aliens don't have to pay taxes, it means the tax penalty for not having insurance does not apply to them. sucks, but it's not a "get out of paying taxes free" card.
Pg 195 Officers & employees of the Health Care Administration will have access to ALL American's financial and personal records
NO NO NO NO NO. jesus christ NO. they will have access to certain parts of your tax information as it pertains to affordability credits, and is LIMITED TO (says so, in plain english, right in the bill):
tax ID
filing status
modified adjusted gross income
number of dependents
taxable year
this is information that the government already has. THEY ARE NOT GETTING ANY NEW INFORMATION ABOUT YOU IF YOU CHOOSE THE PUBLIC OPTION.
seriously, WHO read the bill and farted out this BULLSHIT interpretation of it?
really, i could go on, but i'm tired, and
no it doesn't, read the bill
is a sufficient answer to each instance listed beyond what i've noted.
cliff's notes: the sky is not falling, chicken little. seriously, let go of rush's teat.
both sides are fucked up. i'm not going to pretend that democrats wouldn't be pulling the same bullshit if the tables were turned.
it's the rampant hypocrisy that i can't stand.
rush/hannity/beck/levin/lewis/etc want the government to stay out of the lives of the citizens... except when we're talking about gay marriage. then they want the government to tell people how to live their lives.
when people protested bush's plan to invade iraq (echoing the opinion of the majority of planet earth), they were "unamerican" and "traitors" and "crazy liberals," but when these same guys incite people to go disrupt town hall meetings and scream in their elected officials' faces and spread misinformation by quoting the very "talking points" that they claim to dispise from the left, it's "patriotic." a "talking point" doesn't magically turn into a fact just because you're a conservative.
the only thing sadder are the people who actually BRING a paper copy of the bill to a town hall meeting and yell about these talking points, proving that they haven't even READ the thing they're holding in their hands, yet feel obligated to inform the people who WROTE it of what it says.
i mean, really? nobody sees how ridiculous that is?
