If the car was tested and fails as a gross polluter every time the car has to be smogged by a state referee and will be under a microscope. Most of the cars just end up in junkyards and are perfect cars minus smog issues.

Denatured Alcohol.  run that instead of gas. and the car passes the smog test with flying colors.

It doesnt even smell like hairspray when you stand next to the tailpipe.

California smog gets tougher by the day. Jdm motors are now Illegal no matter what and if you get caught with one in your car you will be sent to the state smog refree and must install a stock motor for your car matching the year or nwer but must be the same obd based ecu


Its not that easy just to throw on a cat. for example even if the car passes the tailpipe test if at anytime a check engine light pops up the car is failed


If any vacuum lines are not matching to the oem manual car is failed even if passes tailpipe test


Yes its that picky and the smog techs who cheat the system can be sent to prison/huge fines that would throw them at of the business. I believe after being caught a 2nd time you lose the ability forever to be a smog tech


Also they are videotaped while smogging you car and the vin's/registration papers are scanned numerous times to make sure they are legit



My old smog dude was charging 400 to pass cars illegally and it was pretty clever. I dont want to get into it since some fool may to try to pass the info on but it worked and he never got caught.


He ended up getting out of the automotive field like everyone does here due to the laws/rules and went into the Navy as an officer.

Its a major pain but the crx is going back on the road paid registration fees last week now just need to find a smog hookup. Going to make it look as stock as possible. Got a jdm d15b in the car now just to get it back up and running.f20b will be dropped in after I finish the suspension/brakes.


15 inch steels+stock height. Only way Im going to be able to drive it without getting fucked with. sadly i have some uber duber rare works wheels that just collect dust. I have 2 other sets of rotas for that car also.


Events use to have 20-25 thousand people at races here it was like going to the coolest rock show but with an ungodly amount of racing going on


Last race I heard was less than a thousand people in attendance without one field of cars being full.


The few honda people still left in california are mostly doing road racing these days and not driving the cars on the roads.

WA is awesome... I dont even hasve to check the accord (reged in another county that doesnt require it), and the truck is just pass the sniffer (which is pretty fucking leaniant) and the gas cap test...

Oh yeah and tons of mexicans driving beat up old honda/acuras. I like to race them in my Tundra while my dogs hang their heads out the windows barking at them has I take my victory from a 280,000 mile integra.



I even raced some couple months back with 2x4's hanging out the back of the grandpa mobile.

Florida is arguably worse.  With the huge construction boom *everyone* there is a subcontractor or somehow self-employed in one of the supporting markets, which means you don't qualify to be listed as unemployed.  Earlier this year the REAL unemployment rate of FL was around 20%.

As for the smog goes. anyone in sac (that deems trustworthy) i got you for 250 no additional taxes.

as far as refs go: simply put, only if your not gonna bar it, roll when the state is broke, cops dont give ref tickets when the CAP (california assistance program) is down.

Right now honestly is the easiest time to get ref'd they dont test on site out here anymore, they do a visual, slap your bar sticker and tell you to goto a test only center.

If your failing smog slightly add a gallon of e85 to your 2/3 full tank.. we tested this and its crazy how much the co and hc drop.
