So, serious question. Let's say the swine flu comes and kills 20% of the American population. Does anyone see this having a positive impact on our economy?

probably not... certain sectors of the economy would soar however.

I think so. Most of the intelligent people would be intelligent, and the dirty nasty crowed would still be congregating.

Social services would be relieved.

Yeah, they are predicting up to 90,000 people will die in the US alone.

That's three people in ten thousand. I figure everybody will know - not particularly well - one person who dies of it.

The original 1918 Spanish Flu which was H1N1 started out in Kansas. Once it slowly spread and changed a few times, it started killing ALOT of people.

That is what CDC and WHO is worried about. The current outbreak I don't think can even be considered the first wave yet. The second wave in 1918-1920 was the deadliest.
