Do any of you guys play poker online or what is a good site to play on? I need to learn how to play I lost all my money last weekend

I know a few people who made jobs of online poker, mixed with occasional live play.  It's not something you can jump into thinking your going to make money easy, those are the types that make it so profitable for the real players.  That fake chip shit doesn't teach you much, as people don't seriously play with them.  Read some books and play some cheap tourneys and cash games, talk to others that play online and live a lot too if you can.

There's also big ups and downs in it, even when you play perfectly, shit happens.  One guy I know used to  have 6 digits in winnings, but is now pretty broke...probably has more money than me though

Think they use fulltilt and pokerstars mainly.

yeah there is a local guy that makes alot of money in online poker, but he talks about losing 80-90k some nights.

I had a friend obsessed with that shit.  Everytime I saw him he had some world championship poker tournament on television.  I didn't know cable offered 24/7 poker??

So wheres the Good deals at?  Cause i remeber back in the day all of these sites were offering the 50 bucks free to start n shit with a promo code or something.  Anybody know where teh best start up or sing up deal is?  Iw anted to play the other day and didnt know which site to use.

Pokerstars and Tilt mainly.  There were some scandals on Absolute and UltimateBet.  Search on youtube you'll see some ridiculous shit. 

Like said above onyl way to actually learn the game is sit down and play.  Most likely you will lose money.  Also like civiczc said you can play perfectly and still come out behind. 

I'd recommend starting out playing single table tourns for small stakes.  Stars has $1.20 sngs.

You could also go to the .net sites they advertise on TV.  Same site but you don't have to risk any money...good way to test the waters.

I know someone who was studying civil engineering with my girlfriend that dropped school after 2.5 years (2.5/4 years) to play online poker.

He make enough cash now to play in the pro soon.

im playing online poker right now, im only playing a 10 dollar tournament of 6 people first place gets 40 bucks and it doesnt take too long.  I've played a 90 person tournament and gotten down to the final 9 only to be kicked out in 6th place, shit took 4 fucking hours of playing

i play on full tilt... i'm too broke to play for cash so i play for fake money... i agree that it kind of sucks because you get people who make rediculous bets and call you when you go all in on the blind even though they only have a 9/Q off suit. it gets pretty annoying but i do want to put like 50 bucks on my account next paycheck and try the real money tourneys
