I've been on old hmt for about 5 years, my name was turborolla94, b/c back in the day thats what my project was going to be..but i didn't even have my permit then
I never posted much, just lurked and read up on everything i could. I'm 19 now, and i think I've read enough to start my build. I'm currently building a hmt kit for my protege5, and no, its not like brianmp5t's car..lets just leave that subject alone.
I've been working with my dad at his machine shop for about 4 years, and I've learned a lot of shit from my old man. here's some pics of where I work and the equipment..

and here are some of the parts that I've made..we mostly do work for textile companies like WIX and A&E..and the white plastic pieces tear the feathers off of chickens ;D
And now for the ride..now don't make fun of it..I'm not afraid to admit that the shit is slow..and even with a turbo kit..its still going to be slow. I dont really care because I'm not building the kit for speed or hp, its just for personal satisfaction to say that I built my own turbo kit. I'm aiming for about 180 hp, just to start out so i know my engine won't blow up. My buddy backed into the front of it, hence the bent hood and cracked grill..and bumper.
*edit* the red shit in the engine bay came with the car..that was not my doing
I built my own exhaust using 2.5" stainless pipe..and a resonator..no muffler
it actually sounds very good..its loud when i want it and quiet when it needs to be..overall im happy with it. It cost me about 150 bucks.

I have about 90% of the parts collected for the turbo kit..heres the turbo that I'll be using..its an ihi ball bearing turbo with subi flanges..its about the equivalent of a mitsubishi 16g turbo..and i would go bigger but i got it for 100 bucks and i couldn't pass it up. It's a replacement for a t25, if you haven't noticed by the compressor side of the turbo. It will spool up quick..which isn't what i want, but its a start. hopefully I'll be building the engine and getting a t3/60-1 or something around that..but thats all in the air for a couple years. The intercooler is a trust intercooler off of an eclipse..1200 msrp..40 dollars
it was wrecked and had some holes..but i got those welded up and it holds pressure fine. It's fucking huge..and i dont know if i'll be using it or not. Hopefully in the next month or so I'll be posting up a build thread..but this will do for now.
