if i was a cop and saw someone walking down the street with a knife in thier hand you better believe im stopping them to find out what they are doing. if i tell them to drop it and they start walking towards me with it you also better believe they are getting disarmed is some manner.

you're wrong. carrying a steak knife is not against the law, would you stop someone who was carrying a pistol? or a rifle? in most states YOU would end up the one on trial.

maybe not in your neck of the woods, but in CT we have laws against brandishing a weapon, i didnt make the law. walking down the street with a pistol or rifle in hand is illegal here. basically if you pull a gun and dont use it, you get charged with brandishing a weapon and they take your permit.

I was arrested this morning over a guy I slapped in the face 10 months ago, Johnny.  The cop was super cool, and we kidded around a bit as I was being fingerprinted and then signed out.  Funny I don't have any problems with authority, although I would if it became invasive and controlling and abusive like in your imagination.

The cops you bitch about are a minority, Johnny.  The system is fucked with how other cops cover for them, but in the age where whiners sue over any little thing they almost have to present a united front against the world.  Find a constructive way to integrate our law enforcement with the rest of society, Johnny, and whine 30% less please.
