I had the SW9VE and it was fun for a first handgun, but too large to carry comfortably, and it really isn't made all that well. Hold one with SW M&P or something else in the $500-$700 range and you'll understand. If the M&P was a new volvo, the 40VE would be a 92 nissan maxima.

Agreed.  I got the SW9VE also and it was a great first time gun.  When you go up in price with other guns, its definitely over shadowed easily.

The last time I went to the gun store, I put probably 25 guns in my hand...pretty much everything under 600 bucks, and the glocks felt the nicest, overall. I like this gun better. -and its my first owned gun.

I ended up buying it today and got it for 375 ...and it came with 600 rounds. There may be better out there, but this was well within my budget and so far, im happy with it.

I like the 249, personally.  Thing is smooth as fuck.  But the registered HK sear is the ticket.  Lots of options with host gun selection

Yes it is.  Had mine for a couple months now.  Took a week to really get it adjusted the way I like it and get it comfortable, but once the leather starts to mold it fits so nice I forget I have it on usually.
