Ranger fail.... edit: its f/s if anyone needs parts lol
« on: October 11, 2009, 11:09:37 PM »

So i was putting brakes on my friend kyles 98 ranger when i found this on the passenger side  :o Yes that is a bolt welded to the uca holding it to the frame  ::) We tried to weld the crack up but keep blowing through the frame lol. On top of that moving the rubber brake line half an inch to the left cause the metal line under the truck to start leaking.

We had one come into work one day with the rear leaf spring shackle mounts rusted off of the frame.  It was a death for sure.

Just a rusty pile of fuck.

Id have kept the ranger if it was 4wd... But its Not...  The leafspring thing is known about them...

didnt some of those Isuzus have honda motors in them  ???  anyhow the Isuzus seem pretty nice a friend of mine has a 95 trooper with the 3.2 sohc v6. Runs good and has decent power but the valvetrain is noisy as hell. Wonder how those motors would do with boost? They have the gm 60 degree trans pattern and i have a 92 s10 that has a failtastic 2.8 in it that needs some loven.

any car can be built with AFTERMARKET parts to run fast.

Yeah, but stock 351W still eat 700 whp all day long, so take the hater cock out of your ass.  There's a lot that's RIGHT with Fords, I'd rather own one than a newer Honda.

Some honda's had isuzu engines, but not the other way around.

Ford has done a lot right. Yes the've built their fair share of shit and then some. But a lot of their trucks are purpose built and very stout from the factory. And +1 to the mustang, they've done a lot right with it too.

Look up "football rod" truck blocks.  And yeah, they'll make that power, but stock piston reliability is like a 350 whp GSR's... they last for a while, or not, and then the lands go.

Then you buy $150 worth of forged pistons and some MHG's, turn the boost up and laugh at faggot slow literbikes as you pass them with the entire cast of 90210 in your car.

cars that break down a lot (fords) cost more to own cause you are always fixing something.

Sir, here you suggest that fords are unreliable.  The question I pose to you is, what exactly is considered reliable in this day and age?  They dont make 92-95 civics anymore...

Fixed.  I hate fords because they are designed so fucking retarded, not that GM's are designed much better, but they are designed a bit better.  the only ford i'd own is a 03-04 cobra.  Fuck everything else

I like the early/mid 90's F series fords. We've got a 93' F150 with ~190K on the odometer. Truck is hauling something whenever it's running, gets about 10K a year put on it, and it never complains. Everything int he fucker is stock, never done shit to it. A/C is ford cold, 351 pulls good. Hasn't had an oil change in years, but it doesn't complain. Ford ain't got a conscious. Just runs.

I've been beating the shit out of '80's fords from the beginning and probably will for the next 10 years.  I've sunk a total of probably less than $400 (including purchase) in my dd '83 ranger in the last two years.

it's a fairlane old man, i didn't buy it my wife did. she bought it cause she liked the way it looked.
now she wants to sell it cause it's a pos

robb: i'm not talking about new cars. baldnog questioned my budget. i'd rather buy a ef for $1000 and drive the shit out of it till it dies then spend $800 on a ford escort and drive the shit out of it till it dies.
even if they last just as long. however if something goes wrong with the ef i have a hookup on parts, usually free parts. if something goes wrong with the escort, i gotta pay full price for parts.

So basically, by saying ford=fail, what you actually meant was your parts hookup=fail.

Gottcha.
