Not feeling the 3G, sir.  I have seen some fast ones but holy shit those things are flexy fliers with a mild 300 whp NA engine.  You can watch the hood twist one way under power, the dash twists the other.

yes from owning 2 i can vouch that these fag wagons def flex a lot only reason i wouldnt own another . had a 89 with a 383 last american car i ever owned that was almost 10yrs ago and i havent owned any thing other than a honda or acura

My father's friend has a 70.5 also, the thing is sex on wheels.  Probably the only chevy I would ever drive.  He was running around 600hp NA until he cracked a piston.  It's probably still on jackstands though, 3 years later

I don't know about only Chevy I'd drive, the old General does make some pretty cool cars even if they aren't anything I'd want to own aka foot the repair bill on.  But as far as the jackstand thing... yeah, us old men as slack as fuck.

That is kind of my point.  The most expensive bills, for the work performed, I see is for German imports by far.  UInfortunately we get quite a few of them in, and not having all of the equipment to make dealing with them easy sucks ass.

3800s are pretty fucking solid other than intake leaks(a common GM theme) and little bullshit like that.  I have yet to personally see a catastrophic failure that wasn't caused by the owner lacking any concept of automotive maintenance.

Yeah, ive found that alot of what entails working on kraut wagons is a depth of knowledge of the cars, not so much special tools, although they do use a retarded number of them.  Most of which can be had fairly cheap from the 3rd party tool suppliers.

I personally have not been trained on German stuff, other than envelope machines lol, so it is difficult for me to try to diagnose oddball problems.  Other than diagnosis, they are pretty much like working on any other car IMO.

Lol.  Look at most people turning wrenches on Honduhs.  I have friends that think Honduhs are hard to work on.  Shiiiiiiiiiiit.  There are many domestics that are far worse, and I generally don't consider them to be all that bad.  Ford does love to cram 17 lb of shit in a 3 lb bag though.  Fuck a 2.5 Duratec in a Cougar.  lol.  That and the V8 SHOs.

On the GM side, there is the good ole 4th gen f-body.

Mopar Vehicles are usually extremely easy to work on IMO.

i had a third gen, it was a 88 iroc, L98 350 TPI. it was a flexy bitch, rattle trap, till i made 2x2 .120 subframe connectors and a 6pt roll cage. the motor had a zz4 cam, a little head/intake work, and crappy hypertech chip.

i had a hard time keeping rear ends in the car, it came with the ra-tarded borg warner 9 bolt disc brake rear. they were a bitch to find and started to get expensive. i sold it and bought my accord,

I wish I had better pictures of the sub frame connector setup I built for my turd gen.  They were very effectivbe, but a hige apin in the ass to install.  I nver did fully finish welding them in.  lol.

They were .120 wall 2 x 3 rectangular tubing that ran in a notch cut through the floor right next to the rocker.  Welded to the pinch weld at the rocker and a diagonal .120 wall 1 x 2 rectangular brace that ran to the frame rails under the trans tunnel.

Here is the only pic I have scanned and uploaded, and it is an in progress one at that.
