Had it done in 2006. I had a ton of plica in my knee. See what I had done.My knee felt great for about a year after, now its back to the way it was. Now the govt pays me almost $300 a month for the rest of my life for it.

Going in, I was at about a 8. Main thing, which they didn't tell me....don't stay in the bed when you get out of the hospital. Start moving that thing as soon as you can. I went to my follow up about 10 days after the surgery, hadn't moved my knee at all in those 10 days, and the doc totally folded it in half. Yeah, that sucked. So, depending on what you have done, make sure you don't hang out in bed after the surgery.

+1 on moving after surgery.  I had some major elbow surgery done and I didn't move it for a week after.  Then when I went to move it, it hurt too much to move.  Gotta get the muscle memory going right away, even if it hurts a bit.

just watched one of these the oteher day was fucking cool, after the surgery we put the knees in a CPM mashine at the hospital, it slowly flexes the knee a certain number of degrees slowly. try and get a longer stay in the hospital for better results/monitoring, they normaly just turn and burn through surgeries and are pushed by the insurance companes to get you the fuck out of the hospital.

if you are in bed fled your knee as far as you can every 5-10 minutes or w.e they prescribe you. good luck im sure everything will go well this is a pretty routine surgery and is hard to fuck up.

shredded my ACL skiing last winter and had the arthroscopic surgery in march, they had to completely remove what was left of the old ACL and replace it with a cadaver tendon. i would say the pain for the first week after surgery was about a 6-7, not too bad, didnt use any of the painkillers. biggest thing is just to get you knee flexing again to its full range of motion and building the strength back up.  what did you do to need surgery?

I had a  O0 run into me because he didn't feel like stopping, needless to say he did end up stopping, only after running into me. Also left me with 2 slip disc, one in my lower back and one in my neck. :-\

heres advice coming from someone who has worked with ortho docs and dealt with this on a daily basis for 2 years. its 50/50 for immediate relief and 50/50 on long term relief. for some people, immediate and long lasting pain relief. some people get nothing. all its doing is buying you time until you hit 60 and have to get it fully replaced anyway.

also, the most important thing for you to do is the physical therapy afterwards and strengthen the hell out of your knees.

heres the deal, its worth it if your doc thinks it'll help you. it wont get any worse(rarely), it can only get better.

side note, crxvtec, you're either fat or overly athletic. howd you tear it up?

another side note, speedjunky, cpm machines are generally not used on scoped patients (generally acl's and totals)
