Judging this book by its cover, and the car on the cover, id say it contains little to no technical information.

Aaron Cake would dissapprove.  How do you incorporate more reliability into an already bulletproof design?

aaron cake is mentioned in this book in the special thanks section.

however the deepest gratitude goes to jim downing, paul yaw, and rotary god.

hm...

our engines can be very reliable if you know what your doing. you cant muscle fuck it like hotrex and expect it to live.

An engine that can't be muscle fucked is hardly an engine at all.

Sir, reliable is a butt fucked 20+ year old mustang 5.0 with twin t-bird 60trims and an fmu that refuses to die.

Try this with a rotary, then get back to me on this whole "reliable" bit.

Reliable is a product of over engineering.   It takes place on the drawing board and the factory production line, and can't be added in after the fact in a 90% stock part rebuild.

And it was running race gas.

Sir, a geo metro could make 600hp running race gas. This proves nothing.

what do you mean? 12A's have 3,, apex seals that aren as long as the 13b apex seals wich are like... 2mm. they ocmpleatly wear off all the wear surfaces and shit and still run great. mazda didnt even deem it necessary to make rotor housings for them any more since they re soo hard to blow the fuck up.

Pretty sure they are longer than 2 mm, but I bet they aren't any wider than 2mm.

12a apex seals are shorter and wider than most 13b's.

looks like great toilet reading... I mean paper... Glosssy pages take some finesse though to get the ole pooper clean....  but I can think of nothing better than to wipe my ass with than a publication dedicated to the wankel engine and its glory in FAIL...

Can you smell the premix.....

Yes, I miss my 98 GT, and my 89 trunk car. The good thing is, the wife loves mustangs, so it wont be hard to justify buying another.

This one is a 98 GT, under the sheeps skin.  I just put a set of plug wires on it, and took it out to turn some doughnuts in the rain.

Peter, I wish you the sort of rotory reliability that only exists in Aaron Cake's fantasyland.  You are a good person who deserves it.  Whenever you drive your RX7 god almight should part the clouds and shine sunlight down on you while angels sing and shit.

Joey, I really wish you weren't so close minded about rotaries. I myself ran with several hard core rotary guys in the land of the half rising sun. High hp, low budget cars that were just as reliable as many other builds. Like any other  engine build, you build it right and tune it right, it will do what you want it to and last. I've been around 550hp rotaries that saw 10k rpms every single week...that engine was built well before I got there, and blew up just before I left. 5+ years that motor lasted. And that wasn't uncommon...

I do laugh at a rotary engine tool box though. I think 3 or 4 sockets, a torque wrench, a screwdriver and thats about it. and of course a dremel, and a few carbides to get some power.

yah. like i was saying, it all depends. you can throw a junkyard engine together and it will last forever with a great tune, but you have a brand new engine with a poopy tune and youll hotrex it.

im still learning about tuning to this very day.
