I spent way to much on my wifes ring, we went to various places and checked them out. And sure is shit she liked the most expensive one. But she got it, and she loves it.

From what I understand, its also due to them controlling the amount of diamonds released onto the market. I remember someone telling me that there are enough diamonds in the world for everyone to have a cup-full.   But, the ones that there are tons of aren't necessarily the nicer/more desirable ones.

I got one that's on the smaller side, but its good quality and looks noticeably better than the cheaper stuff I saw. I certainly got retailed though (celebration cut from zales...they gotta pay for all that marketing somehow lol).  It sucks they are so expensive but when you look at the ones that are large and cheap and then look at the more expensive ones you can see a difference. Quality over quantity i guess. Since i cant afford a baller huge diamond of any quality she got a nicer, smaller one
