Topic: So I'm getting $250 a night to play guinea pig (Read 6777 times)

So I'm not getting many hours at work, and found out about this medical testing shit.

I stay 4 nights twice, and bank $250 per day. Free food, free intrawebs, xbox360, movies galore, free pool table, satalite tv, and lots of hot nurses.

As long as I don't get sick, I'm golden. I just have to deal with one I.V. injection of this new antibiotic (or placebo), some blood draws, then hang out. Next stay I do the same with a pill. Basicly it's to test how it breaks down in your body, not to see if it causes brain hemorrhaging or shit like that.

Long story short, I'm going to put another $2k towards my growing house down payment fund...or the rest of my GSR turbo build. Originally I was going to rebuild one block as a stock GSR, then later build a GSR block w/ls crank. Now I'm thinking about getting a JRSC and using that until my built block & turbo kit are finished, or maybe getting a brand-spanking new ITR trans...

lol, I basicly got paid to watch that today, then I watched fight club. 1 more blood draw today. Then I'm going to eat for free, then play chess with a bi and her lesbian friend.

Really though, this shit is rough. Earlier I missed part of Hancock due to an ECG, and I completely didn't understand this crazy asian assissin movie from last night. I also missed half of the "V" marathon on scifi because they were late with the first blood results. And I'm getting really hungry.

How so? One guy has been doing it for 15 years. Doesn't get slammed for taxes on it, and last year made $71k, not including his work as a contractor. Neither he nor any other "repeat" has never had any sort of health problem for more than a day. I get worse colds from my normal job. There's no sharing of needles, everone here is cool, and everything has already been tested on dogs/etc and people for adverse effects. It's far from county jail - it's more like a high-end hostel/open lodge.

Or...basis on "hours"? It's not my fault the republicans fucked our country in the 8 years previous to obama, and left all my opportunities in this area (fresh degree w/o experience) with <32 hours/week and <$10/hour. Last week I was given 18 hours, previous 12 hours. And that's including the hours I was given last-second for others that called in sick.

If I say I want to go home tonight, I'll still be given $500 - no questions asked. My last normal paycheck was only $472...

I make 21/hr with a high school diploma and 6 years experience. Move to Alaska, freeze your nuts off, profit. If you can stand working on the North Slope (Prudhoe Bay) any of you retarded grease monkeys could be making $30+ and hour. And closer to reasonable civilization, you can easily make $20+.

It doesn't beat $250 a night, but at least you won't melt your brain with strange chemicals. On the other hand, most of us pay good money to do that...

the FDA states that even if its a 1 in a million insidence they still need to list it, so if come crack head was being tested and getting $$ to buy more crack and stroked out, stroke is now a side effect. so on for the other conditions.

they can pay testers whatever the fuck they want, they simply recover it by jacking up the price once its out, they can patent the drug for 7-10 years, if its the only drug that will heal or do something specific then they have the market cornered for the next decade. here is where they recover their testing, advertising and al other cost as well as max profit before walmart can get a generic version of it.

Stevemode, to each his own. I felt the same way, then one of my friends told me how he's payed for his last 3 semesters at UW Madison.

Basicly the gist of this test is to test a modified version of an existing (safe) antibiotic, and see how it breaks down over the course of a day so they know how much to give each dose, and how often. They aren't looking for side effects, they are already known, and have been for 2 years. The only known side effects are redness at the I.V. injection spot while it's dripping in, slight headache, and that minor crap. Coincidently, the placebo patients get nearly the same symptoms.

As far as the payment itself, you guys sum up why it's so much. Not many perfectly healthy people are willing to do this, nor can many make the time. The fact is that drug companies rake in absolutely rediculous profits, that they can pay for more than a few trials.

BTW my 3rd arm is starting to grow in nicely

around here in fargo there is a huge facility that test drugs on people and i would have to say close to 25-50 percent of people do it. with being a huge college town everyone is looking for easy money and most of my friends from college have done at least one and some have it as their only job. they py stupid amounts of money. theyve even been known to do THC creams so that people with certain diseases dont need to smoke it
