scottdh20's project turbo d15b7
« on: November 09, 2009, 09:41:44 AM »

so i will start off by saying that im sorry if some of this doent make sence im going to be cut and pasteing it from another forum to save me some time.

 it's now boosted

well i have almost all my parts for a turbo build so i figured i'd start a build thread. i have a new computer so i dont have to many older pics but i'll try to start at the begining.

in nov. 07 i bought a cx hatchie with a wonderful d15b8 in it, soon after purchase i started noticing the temp going up and some funny idol problems. i had a spare b7 head lying around so i figured i do a head swap and get 30 extra ponies. well turns out there are three snapped head bolts, to top it off the easy out snapped off in the block doing the last hole. thats when that block got stripped down for spare parts and went to the trash can.

so i took my perfectly good 4dr and ripped its heart out

^^^^^my buddy matt has helped me out alot w/ this project.

then put it in the hatch

some goodies for the new motor

also at autozone i noticed that the code for d16z6 and d15b7 valves were the same. so in place of the old worn out ones in the d15 got a skunk2 upgrade(exhaust side fit intake didnt, so all new oem's went on the intake side or it may have been the other way around not sure)

as soon as it warms up i gonna respray the whole car white cuz it looks like ish right now as well as a new pass fender
next spring or maybe later this year i was thinking i may go with a fiji blue pearl with bronze rims, bronze engine bay and interier

here a few more pics

only video i got....worst run of the night at like 15 flat, launched at 2k....lol i stagged late and the tree began to fall as i was getting ready, started to get on the trotal at 2nd yellow and just let it go on third so horrible launch....then my camera died but i did get some good runs in

here was the best run, i know i need to get my 60ft down but launch control is set a 4k and is going to be getting raised to 6k before i head out to the track again

and my new shoes

should be able to get a mid to high 13 next trip with my launch control fixed

went to the track, well it sucked to say the least... it was like 45* out and it was misting out here and there. they said they preped the track in the morning and then they didnt go over it again the whole day...they said its to late in the season to be going over the track ever couple hours.....the first 60ft were ok but at about the 60ft mark the track got slick.....

i'll have some vids up later today or tomorrow....

either way i got like a 14.3 @ 96-98mph somewhere in there but with a 1.92 60ft...........because 1st gear it would rip, shift to second and as the rpms start climbing the tires just break loose? but i guess alot of people had the same problem with the track being prepped very well until the 60ft marker, then it just got slick as hell.

i guess it was ok cuz i forgot a helmet and if i ran 13.999 or faster they would have kicked me out......i hope that there will be a decent day before the season ends

yeah i got 13x8 w/ 22x8x13 mt slicks for the track, they are sexy for sure.

as for the injectors, i know but i got them for free....well kinda, i gave a buddy of mine some old nasty looking 3" alum. piping that he used to make a intake outta for them....but the used piping was gifted to me and i wasnt ever going to used it, so they were free. im pretty much maxing out the injectors right know. but i have been beating the shit out of it on a daily basis @ 14psi for like 6 months now.

27 posts and no porn. Fail.

On top of this it is 27 posts of JDM faggotry. Things like: it will certainly cause my death 4 point bolt in cage, the gayer then aids hood, the I didn't think it could it get any gayer spoiler, only to be followed by the loving to touch little asain boys sticker. The only thing even remotely redeeming on this whole car, is the manifold and down pipe.

I don't know if the whole internet worth of porn could save this.

to c0mpl3x:

sorry i didnt know i could have made these all in one post, every other forum i am on has a picture limit on each post. wont happen again, also just like to say i was a member on the original hmt and i didnt post much but did lots of trolling and loved it. i have been trolling around here for a while aswell as hmt went down hill a while back. just thought i'd post up my build.

yeah my car isnt the fastest but i thought thats what rhmt was all about, yeah a k-swapped civic does run faster with some bolt ons, but i also have like 7-800 into my entire turbo kit on a d15b7 that can  run mid to high 13's, and low 13's after i swap in a si tranny.

i ran a 14.3 @ 98mph with a 1.9 60ft. it was 45* out and the track wasnt prepped for shit, the first 60-100 ft were prepped very well though. 2nd was spinning like crazy with slicks. im not making excuses but it is what it is. so i have a low 14 sec car

to dvst8r

whats wrong with autopower roll bars? i have seen them on many builds and as far as bolt-in cages go are the only ones i would trust my life with. i get alot of shit for the hood, whatever i like it, its my car not yours, and its functional, my water temps dropped nearly 20* and my under hood temps are way cooler. sorry function > form, sorry your not a fan of the spoiler i like it. ahgain this is my car and i'm building it per my taste, i dont need your aprovel nor anybody elses.

as for the porn, sorry do admit fault there my bad, but i am at work :)

Bolt in roll bars are more likely to end your life then save it. I don't care if they are used in a million builds, there is a reason no sanctioning body anywhere in the world approves their use.
