Humans are inherently greedy, selfish and ignorant. What you're arguing for is social darwinism, and that my friend is fucked. Theres a few things that separate humans from animals. Our sentience, for one, but also our ability to recognize what is 'right', and recognize that as individuals we are lost, but by organizing ourselves into things like governments we can become greater than our individual selves and have things like laws and regulations that take us out of our selfish, greedy, ignorant selves and form a morally-regulated community of people. Things like compassion, empathy, other bullshit like that are the products. THE GOVT IS SO EVIL AND STEALING ALL MY MONIES! OH NOES! I'll be the first to admit there are many failings, but look at the rest of the world for an example. What countries have the highest standard of living? THE ONES WITH FUNCTIONING GOVERNMENTS. And more specifically, the ones with democracy-based governments like our own.
OK I'm going to go back to doing my SCHOOL work. A PUBLICLY FUNDED STATE school. I'll work on my research that's funded by THE DEPARTMENT OF INTERIOR; thank you NPS, you're the best. Later, I'll probably eat some food I made using my food my live-in girlfriend bought with her FOODSTAMPS, the food stamps she gets for working in a low-paying, public service job to support PUBLIC infrastructure, the basic goods provided to all citizens of a GOVERNMENT. Thanks for all the money Johnny, I couldn't do it without the insane amount of money you pay from the extreme amounts of money you must make.
