Heard about this a few days ago, there's a TON of models/years being recalled.

I never liked electronic throttle ever since I tried to put a boost controller on my father's Saab, it just closes the throttle plate to compensate and lower the boost. Ass!

wireless throttle may have to do with power limiting or government control.

most throttle by wire systems close any time there is an error in the system and run reduced power or idle only

all these problems are in the hybrids and the cars that dont actually have keys. they just got transponder tags and push button starts.

remember if your in one the way to shut it off is hold the 'start' button for 3 seconds and it will kill the motor.
all these people dont know how to shut their cars off. also most new cars willl not shift the tranny to neutral if your on the gas.

i never understood why we need steppermotor throttles, shit scares me. some new bikes have them, thats scary.

I don't get it. I was a passenger in a 85 Stanza when the cruise control throttle cable was stuck, the car wanted to stay at 70mph while trying to stop. The driver and myself both reached for the key at the same time.
Last year I was moving a newer CRV and stabbed the throttle. It stuck WOT and my instant reaction was to throw it in park. 
WTF is going on in peoples heads when this happens? Panic reaction? Lets see, brakes no, park/neutral maybe?

I'm going to have to test if my girlfriend's highlander can be put into neutral with the pedal floored.

LMAO, throwing it into park at high speeds could be exciting.  If it doesn't completely eat the trans, it would definitely break the parking pawl.  I almost died when my last girlfriend put my car into park going like 5mph.  It was enough to lock up the front wheels.

yea because that would just shear the parking gear. You have any idea how thin a parking ring is? If you ever actually see one, you'll set your e-brake EVERYTIME you leave your car.
