So my wife got me a Sky Diving gift Certificate for xmas.. I am really pumped about it. Was curious if any of you guys have done it? So I guess the first couple times you do it you have to go tandem? Thats really gaysauce IMO. I don't want some manly man strapped to my backside.. and what about after the chute opens and your floating around up there for like 5 mins. It's going to be very awkward. What do you say? "Oh its so magical up here, and beautiful" I wonder if they have females ?? that would be better.

I'm thinking my wife either really loves me and knows that I have always wanted to do this, or she is cashing in on my half million dollar life insurance

some of my buddies did it tandem. he said it was cool as hell and being strapped to another person wasnt as bad as it seemed. i think in order to go alone it costs alot more money and you have to take training classes.

Shits fun as fuck. I did it on my 21st bday about 9 years ago. Just tell them u want to do some spins after the chute is pulled. Fuck me, talk about some g-forces. When u first jump out it feels like your stomic is in your throte. After that it just is kinda windy and loud. Tell them u want to go into a dive. I knew my instructors pretty well so we went to 14k insteand of 12k, and got a little longer freefall. Do it man, its fun as fuck!

J/k Actually an old guy I worked with went skydiving a CRAZY amount of times. I think he said over 30 years, he went ~2800 times (he knew the exact number off the top of his head!) - it averaged out to ~2 times per week. He was 60 or so, and still doing it...

I've always wanted to. My fucking uncle is an instuctor, and has logged a little over 2000 civilian jumps, not counting the 6 years he jumped in the Army. My dad jumped or 4 years for the army, but hasnt in probably 5 years. I just can't afford another hobby right now.

I went to a sky diving place with a few friends and lost my deposit because apparently they don't want you to do it drunk. How the fuck else am I expected to do anything. Retarded.

I've gone before. 

You don't have to go tandem the first time, but I suggest it.  By going tandem you can see what it feels like without having to do any work or focus on anything important. 

Once the chute opens the ride isn't over.  You see your feet, then the ground 4 to 5 thousand feet away.  The dude I was strapped to told me he was gonna loosen my harness for comfort at this point...  I didn't really think about it until he started and I dropped like half an inch.  I freaked a little n started reaching over my shoulders to grab on to him... 

but yeah the floating is a pretty fun ride, ask them to do some j turns n spins after the chute is open n you won't have to worry about any dumb conversation...

i dont know about over there, but here, i had to do 5 tandem jumps tandem, then two more with the instructor "beside" me, from the 8th jump i could do it myself

So how long of free fall is that? and I was reading through there little flier and I guess you gotta go like 5 times in order for you to go by yourself. I mean, I guess I'd rather go tandem then flying into some power lines by myself.

For tandem, 12k should net your around 45 seconds of freefall.

  Just for your sake, I took the cesna 172 up to 14k ft over Washington state last night and cut the engines. Yeah, it has wings, but you still should be safe as fuck with whatever you do. Just make sure to get the dudes last name before you go. haha.

its fun as hell did it for my 18 birthday ..yes its gay just floatin down wit a dick against ur back for like 5-10 min depending on when the shute opens .. also move ur junk out of the way of the crotch straps ..if not u'll be in a shit load of pain ...ur ears also pop bad(atleast mine did) and dont open ur mouth, instant dry mouth .... but its the bigest rush ever ! and deff worth it ... me and my girl are prob goin this summer for my 2nd and her first
