Generally, no.  Most (all?) are not external ROM, aka chippable, ECUs and they are certainly unsupported.

I've seen some GM ECM converted turbo 22R trucks, and Honda stuff finds its way onto the 3S a lot.

Weir did a rotory swap into a 1G MR2, you should be able to find it in fab.

They make power fine, but there's an inherent static balance problem with the motor.  If you operate it 3-4K+ for any amount of time the bearings go away.

The 5sfe requires a fair bit of work to run a p06.

1st, the injectors need to be rewired from batch fire to sequential, the distributor needs a spacer to fit the 5s head, rather than being cut down. The TPS on the manual tranny cars is nothing more than a switch. You'll need to replace it with one from an automatic car.

As far as the distributor goes, it would be easier to run the stock toyota distributor. It has the 24 tooth and 4 tooth signal, just inverted. A simple opamp inverter gets that out of the way, and all that's left is a single notch cam sensor. A notched washer on the cam gear read by a hall sensor would do it. Feed the hall signal directly into IC10 on the p06 to bypass the vr conditioner board.

I've got an NA mr2 harness I've been procrastinating on building for a guy in hawaii. Harness is done, but I need to get a distributor to fit.

hmmm...... sounds kinda easy. the car is an auto already so there is one problem down.

i wonder if there are any problems with trying to get the auto tranny working properly when using a p06?

^^wiring diagrams for the 91 MR2's 5SFE. 91 camry should be similar/identical. i think there's a seperate control module for the tranny, but i don't remember offhand. usually, the engine ECU is only repsonsible for the engine in toyotas. other ancillary stuff usually has its own ECU (ie cruise control, ABS, cooling fans, intercooler pumps, EHPS, etc), however i know the V6 ECUs also control the tranny.

guess i could have been more generous with the info. its a 91 4cylinder auto. he doesnt care much for going fast since he is older than JD, but oddly has more hair. he just wants to do it for fun. its also cheaper to get into the massive old car show here in daytona if you drive in. the car isnt old enough to get in, but with enough custom work, they will allow it.

ITB's and boost seem like a waste of effort.

I don't think there are many people willing to dial in Camreys other than serial killers.

I have access to a sweet 88 camry ALL-TRAC that needs some boost... they actually weigh in 100lbs less than the 91 celica alltracs...

Celica alltracs were boosted, corollas, camry's, and previas' are not.

Might be useless information here.... But my Tercel (1991) used an AFC hack with some Celica 315cc injectors (originals were 155). It was only ever OK... never Great. Always weird timing issues.

For this Tercel, I got an AEM F/IC .... To me it looks like the right anwser since its got fuel and timing control without one affecting the other. I thought it looked like a good deal since it has its own MAP sensor and comes with a generic harness.

Maybe thats the anwser to your tuniong woes ?
