Title: "New" HMT forum guy
Post by: Sedrostyle on March 07, 2014, 12:01:06 AM
Hi all,
Thought I'd introduce myself. Steven
New to the forums. Been around hondas since I could drive.
Done alot of dumb thangs lots of " honda " things " jdm " things. typical honda stuff.
Finally cleaning things up I guess it comes with getting older and maybe marriage?
Anyway. I have a 91 hatch.
SAVE the SOHC
plans are boost. Have been boost forever I've just never ever stuck to my guns and put down the cashola.
Its definitly my DD but as all of you know a d series only goes so far without force.
Anyway just saying hello for now. I know alot of the Honda  mechanics, but until recently never really got into the science of building and overhauling.
Im a local washington guy from up north near Arlington.
Took a few years off the car things due to kids but now my knack is back and I'd like to know details tricks parts to get more power... I've always dug what everyones done on this site... looking forward to bein in the family
Build thred to come. I'll do a update from the 5 years i've had it till now... and parts that come in.
Just rebuild the ZC after going thru a quart of oil every week or so for the last year atleast haha
First one is before, wire tuck finished almost, everything i've done myself.
Last picture is me and my 2 year old daughter... She's always out there with me helping I can't get her not to help usually

Steven

Great newb post....... Except it's lacking porn.

And no, not resize. A few people will use that pic of you and your kid, and MS paint jizz spewing penises on it.

We like redhead porn if you need any help. I like big boobs, not many others here do though

build thread soon, I'd like to round up some pictures.
Maybe picking up a HF manifold soon already having a IHI adaptor plate :D
also found black 450 dsm injectos. ;DDD

They are the same as the blue ones right? They'll work ?

Thanks in advance

2g/black DSM injectors are said to have better spray pattern.

Post by: Sedrostyle on March 07, 2014, 10:32:15 PM
That's awesome, so 20 bones well spent, also like I said will already have a adaptor plate for my IHI i've had for years.
Read thru your crx build last night TurboHf. Super inspiring to get the ball going. Specially now that its rebuilt and Im ready to put in real werk.
Also inspired inspiring how you guys use your own tuning tweaks. I myself played around with TurboEdit years ago, just because it was free and I thought being 18 I would have my shit together and get the turbo bug going.
I'd love to do most of it myself atleast the basic. Then of course get ahold of Leed and have it smoothed. A couple buddys know him and have had things done. But as we all know getting ahold of him is the catch.
To be determained....

Anyway my only questions atm was how did you make your interfooler charge pipes? aluminum? I have a little mig wirefeed and I think i've been told I could buy aluminum wire? Idk about gasless tho ? aha

Then also will a 150$ I think it is Chrome license be good? Or is that really only good for ONE use?

Any info on ef charge pipes? Or just buy two kits and make one

we use materials from Columbia Manderal... they hve a post in the classifieds. i use 2.5"...sometimes 2" on the hot side of the intercooler. 16g aluminized mild steel. just wire feed/flux core that shit till it fits. a chop saw from harbor freight is also a good purchase.

Had the same turbo on a sohc non view zi and made 180 tq 175hp. Was at full boost by 2k. Made all my tq by 3k. Was a blast. Make sure you have a good clutch. You'll kill a stock one on no time.

the times, but its what I can do. I've been saying for years I'd have a single turbo and have never really put forth the effort.
I grew up around these sites.

Hopefully this will atleast kick my butt in gear to do some more random fun builds/track time.
For now take this (https://realhomemadeturbo.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fcdn.mature-beauty.com%2Fpics%2F2014-01-15%2F127363_13.jpg&hash=2fe3655435f17e2af99d3c45e1099a79b2f9658a)

Share the info, Im looking forward to meeting some of you guys local WA guys.

That may be true. But I need one.  There's a dude on craigslist who already has a chipped one. But no chip he says. I'd need someone to make and give me a basemap.
Also there's the chance of it being bad. I'm sure like all craigslist sheet.
What do you all think?
Title: Re: "New" HMT forum guy

I would buy a burner and wide band before I spent money on an ecu. At least you have the ability tune before you need it. I personally have had the same Willem burner I bought from JD for the lump sum of 15$ for the past 3 years
Has tuned enough cars to buy me a burn2/burn1 about 5 times over
Title: Re: "New" HMT forum guy
Post by: PhilStubbs on March 20, 2014, 10:15:26 AM
I had a willem burner for years. I let Marcj borrow it and I'm guessing he traded it for pills or something. Luckily I bought a burn 2 right before that cause I got tired of playing with jumpers and wanted a slightly more professional image since I started tuning for money then.

Any deals like that. I know I've found a tuning "kit" for 300

for that price just to run crome? pass... run a demon based system? Neptune probably...

Think its a burner. A datalogger and Idk what else. Idk what I need actually. Ahah
Title: Re: "New" HMT forum guy
Post by: PhilStubbs on March 20, 2014, 12:26:27 PM
If you are going to run Crome, you need an ostrich $175 (chip emulator), hulog $30(I think) if you want to log, chip burner ($85 burn 2),  and wideband. If you run free software and log works it's cheaper than anything else. If you decide to get Crome pro then you might as well go demon/neptune. It's $400 and does everything except act as a wideband. Neptune is light years ahead of Crome in functionality and in my opinion, much better than $500 hondata.

Neptune need the same setup as crome?  I've heard that its better. Years ago.
Like I said I dunno. Just would be sweet to be able to toy and learn something.
Is Neptune free right?

It's really simple if you understand ecu chipping. The demon takes the place of the chip in the ecu and also connects to the data logging port. One USB cable lets you program and log. The Neptune software only works with the demon.

Having sound issues today.... ive heard this before, but it was never this loud and noticeable....
it goes away when revved, it doesn't go away when the clutch is in...
Did a valve adjustment, went intake .08 and .09 wont fit, ex .10 and .11 wont fit.
never had a issue before, been a few days since the valve adjustment. went to work, came home. Moved into the garage and I hear this...

Is it the valves  again :?
Im waiting for it to cool down, make sure i got the caps tight. Pretty sure I did but you never know...

Looks horrible on the computer I just noticed... :D

uhhhh... idk I bought from a guy in bellingham, years ago, said it needed to be rebuilt.
In my shed it sat until finally the 1.5 on the freeway.. .kerplowy.
So what did I do, had to put it in did minor gaskets, drove her hard :D
probably put a good... id say 75000 on it since. Finally did valve seals two years ago,
Present day, would go thru a quart every 4 days or so... for the last year or so. i'd only add oil when my oil light would come on :)
got burned on the two motors. one had spun rod bearing.... bad.. black ring lol
second one, came with dizzy manifold harness, full long block... said it " may " have popped a head
got it home, took the head off in 30 minutes. top looked good, I have pictures somewhere.
thought ya okay this will be okay to slap the rings and bearings in...
ehhh wrong, cracked piston ring gland in one piston. and the bearings were chewed...
WELL I figured, meh my motor in my car doesn't knock or leak or whatever.
So I rebuilt it. rings bearings gaskets hone.
block came pretty clean.... head I didn't really clean, just the surface and brake cleaner and a pressure washer.... didn't go all out on it. I wanted it together.
The z6 head I have is in great shape and the plan is to put it on asap. Which SHOULD be next weekend.

If I can't verify compression or look at the bearings, I don't buy it - unless I can get it for nothing. Except when DasPoop brings them to my house, stuffed in the hatch of a CRX no less.
