you know there's a recall on the coil packs right? go find a blown one and drive it into the dealer. if you can't find a blown one i have a few. it's an emissions related recall, google it... i don't have it memorized. the other one is your n80 valve, probably jammed.

Ive owned my passat for one year and so far Ive replaced the heater core, Thermostat housing, Crack pipe, T stat, Rear wheel bearings, Headliner, Plug wires and plugs, Hoses and fuel filter. And it still needs Brakes, tires, tie rods, slave cycl, chains, and i still dfo not get anything hotter than like 75 degrees out of my heater.
It does have cool features like self changing oil and coolant though.
There isn't anything on this planet that would ever make me consider a Vw ever again. Ever. if it wasn't for the fact that my wife fucked me and got liability on it i would have set it ablaze or ran it into a tree for sure.
Im gonna do the tie rods, water pump, slave and get a tire on it then try to trade it for a jeep. while its still together. I cant knock shit off the list faster than it appears. I drove the entire way to work this am with no clutch and i just took last Friday off to do all that t stat shit.

Yah that's all standard VW shit. As soon as it gets warm enough to not get frostbite working on it I'm going to do the timing belt/pump/tensioner. Everything else seems to be working (knock on wood)
My dad was cosigning on the loan and wouldn't cosign on a jeep because he owned one and said it had problems every other week. He wanted me to get a Honda, but insurance on civics and integras is ungodly expensive and jd advised against buying a newer accord. Although insurance on those wasn't much better. So i went ahead and bought a gaybar.

I didn't advise against it, I advised that the transmissions liked to fall out after '98. My actual words to you were get a ~'00 body style 4 cyl Accord with a lunched trans and do an auto F20B swap for $1250 (probably $1400 to the door) as the F20B trans has obviously higher fluid pressures and will not lunch itself like clockwork. You could have also found a manual trans Accord and pimped that, either 4cyl or V6, aside from having to clean the EGR system every 25K miles and sometimes replace the EGR valve itself they are good cars.

So, what's the deal with your windowed block? I'm not trying to be a dick - it's a common theme from what little I've seen on those cars. Were you rocking a flash that wasn't precisely meant for your setup, etc?

The recall applies to aftermarket coils too. They will replace em anyway.
Apparently the STi coil is the aftermarket crossover, we have a few cars come in that also had them installed.

The car went in, got all 4 coils changed for the recall, then some douchebag stole them and replaced them with random junk coils sometime in between the last week of December and when I bought the car.
I'm thinking the dealership yoinked them and threw them on another car to sell it....

Never really got that poke thing. I gotta admit when they use Spacers in the rears to bring them flush with the wheel arches it looks good so long as its not poked but those fuckers go all out with ET's and all that. I dunno.
After seeing one or two lowered a tad i can see why they use spacers, it does look better IMO.

i quit fucking with anything more then a mk2 a long time ago. the 20v head is nice but its just more vw gayness, if you have to do a valve job, bend over. a turbo vr6 is bomb waiting to go off. you cant wined any of the new motors up because they have to much piston speed. i dont know what the fuck there thinking with the trannys but the best one i have ever seen was from a 4-speed rabbit, dose it really cost that much more to case harden all the gears.
if you find your self owning one of these mk4 piles of fuck, this is what you should do:
take it to the vw dealer, after there done drive it down the street and park it were they cant see you. then put a tiny cut in the fuel line near a fitting,(the hoses never get changed anyway cause they are all $200 a piece) use a razor blade and make sure its just enough so a haze of fuel comes out. then pull one of the coil packs out. and drive home, at some point in about 5min the front of the car will just explode, this is normal, dont panic just pretend like you dont know what the fuck is going on. if the engine dies make sure to restart it, and if you think its a total loss make sure to leave the key on and get out. now run from the car and tell everyone else to get down, when the police show up make sure to tell them you were on your way back to the dealership because it was running like shit.
the only thing vw thats kinda fast is a rabbit with a turbo 1.8 8valve with the bigest fucking cam that will physically fit in the engine. everything else is fat, slow, shit, just burn it.
