I have a friend that wants me to try and tune his dsm 2g. I downloaded ecmlink but I don’t know nothing. I am reading there wiki but I just want to open a bin? (I am a honda noodler) and play with it a bit to see if I get it at all. Or do I need to have a ecu all hooked up and connect to down load a copy?

Yes I am very green with all this.

Tell him to find an evo 8 ecu, a tactrix cable, and download Openecu w/SD patch (for free, btw).  Dont support that Thomas Dorris faggot and his worthless software.  What you downloaded from the site is a trial program, the full version that actually "works" (I use the term loosely) is like $600, plus the cost of whatever else that faggot wants you to buy.

98-99 DSM ECU is flashable, and supported by OpenECU as well.

Between daughterboard for non-EPROM ECUs, install, shipping, etc, DSM-Link is $700-800 for some crappy slider bars.

Lol ok I have heard it sucks. How do I get it to open a file so I can see this crap slide bar system? All he did was swap to a 1g turbo and blow off valve. I should not have to do much. The 1g turbos are a bit better?

You need a 1g ecu and Jackal.

Best way to tune your car, bar-none.

He isnt going to gain 5 hp from tuning a 2g with a 14b turbo.  Honestly, I would trust a MAF translator and SAFC before I would use shitLink again.
