I am disappointed at the votes. I would have thought FMU would be winning by a landslide.
-
i cant say whats best, but i have been over 500 on ectune and in a week or so, i have someone wanting over 500 on crome. im not excited about trying it on crome, but thats what he wants
-
I believe Spiker(Bigdaddycheeseburger) did over 500 on Crome. And Justin(DRQPQUT) did around 520 on Crome as well.
-
crome is 150 and strait forward ectune is 175 and a license nightmare thats just software if you have to buy the emulator i would personaly go with the ectune demon deal thats going on
-
tuning and making power have not much to do with the software but the TUNER using it.
got a pro hondata tuner tuning your car on CROME? good luck. AEM tuner using CROME? he is gonna be annoyed...
depending on what your doing, the car, the power, and most importantly the TUNER. your gonna use different shit.
so... STOP ASKIGN ON THE INTERNET WHAT YOU SHOULD DO AND CALL YOUR TUNER!
-
Whatever your local tuner that you want to work with will do, is what you should do. Ectune and Neptune will probably top that list. I'm pretty sure most people that tune frequently are done with Crome for the most part.

AEM tuner using CROME? he is gonna be annoyed...
By what, exactly? The fact that the car cranks less than five seconds before starting? That he has no sync errors, and can idle the car below 1000 rpms without sync errors piling up? By the box not shitting itself?
Oh, you mean annoyed by the fact that a free/cheapware application is easier to use and gives better results than the AEm he touts. Got it.

Zing!
eCtune is a nice software, but it's a bitch with the force update and licence that you need 10 steps and need to wait 24 hours because it's not an automatic system. The fact that you can't use your ostrish on Crome after that...
Still a nice software with nice feature tho.
Crome free do the job if you don't need antilag and launch countrol.
It's the best bang for the bucks since it's free, but you need to try antilag :P

I like ectune but I'm not a fan of driving my car on an ostrich all the time. If there was only a way to use a chip with single car ectune.
-
I made 620 on Crome Pro on a LEED tune... for 2 years untouched raped like snitchbodys anus on the set of an underoos male model photoshoot.
Car was making 500 off a street tune on pump 1st pull on the dyno, got 520 out of it in the end and 380TQ on pump 92
eCtune and Crome pRo get my vote... The updating is a non isuue 99 percent of the time and the shit is rockl saolid... Fuck a S300 ro an aem, and motherfuck a SAFC hack
-
Demon.
-
The fact that you can't use your ostrish on Crome after that...
Reset vendor, it's not difficult at all

Listen big guy, when you build a software, you don't build it to pissed off people who use it. Otherwise, they will look for key in hand option like Hondata or other shit. Tuners are not software engineers, they know about tuning, not who to build software. They don't want to waste 36 hours (how long I needed to wait to have eCtune installed in my car) before running a damn software. I paid 200$, I want my fucking license now to use it now not in 36 hours.
You need to request another license when you switch from eCtune to Crome.
Btw, I tune, I weld, I wrench, I build on my own. I'm not a dummy who pay someone to do something on my car. I don't have a 600hp car, but if I ever own one, it will be because of me and anybody else... (I'm not talking to you personally, just to saying that I'm not stupid and I can do good things)
Anyway, I'm drunk :P
-
you dont have to request another license to switch to crome.
-
All u do is reset ostrich the when you wanna ectune hit get license and it should pop right up the bitch is that I just had to pay $20 to switch from ostrich to demon license
-
thats not that big of a deal though. I'm very excited for the update coming next week. there is supposed to be some pretty big updates and i would imagine they are of a huge benefit to people with the demon.
-

-
Did they activated the anti-theft feature? I'm tired of removed my ECU every time I drive my car...
-
we shall see. I honestly do not know. Once my car is up and running, i think i may keep the V1 ostrich in the prelude and buy a demon for the tuning ecu. neptune just got live logging uploaded with the demon hardware so i bet calvin isnt too far back. He said he had some issues that were higher priority so i know he is working on that and the anti-theft.
-
Sounds like he's trying to catch up to neptune.

or getting ahead. Doesn't matter to me either way, i like both programs :)

Yeah I got all that fixed it would of ran if I had put oem map sensor back on.
If you think I had a lot of shit mashed in there wait until the next Dyno Day.
I'll show up with a holset blowing into the supercharger into a larger intercooler through 3" piping to a 70mm tb matched to a z6 mani.
All on a z6/y8 vitara w/ eagle rods build. ;D
And with a lot more electronics packed in the engine bay and cockpit. ;D

Fly up here for the meet, and kick it with the crew that can actualy put a meet together and have more than 3 people show up.

WA is one hell of a two way flight price
-
Not really, unless you consider over $400-500 for a 2way expensive. That's about right for these times.
-
Dude if you watch the prices you can pick up dealz from 200-250 to seatac. Its 284 to fly from pensacola fl. to setac right now.

I voted d on nog cause it's the closest to te I could find.
I've been on the fence about spending money w/Calvin. The license stuff has kept my money in my pocket. Finding solid answers has been a significant challenge. Keep in mind I've had personal tutorials from a couple of pgmfi's finest... However my knowledgeabilties of electronics n software is very limited.
If I make the jump to obd1 I'll probably end up using crome...
-

Same here. For me its between Neptune and eCtune. I really don't EVER want to deal with the bullshit mandatory updates, much less if there was ever anything that could be wrong with the updates. I could give a shit less how fast he fixes it, it shouldn't happen in the first place. Even if it only took a few hours to fix, that a lot of lost time when tuning a car. Time= money.
The only thing I wish Neptune offered is individual cylinder trim for ignition. It might not be a significant issue with boosted setups, but it makes quite a difference on NA setups. So I've heard from Blake anyways.
-
I have a copy of Ectune, and really I don't use it often enough for the force updates to bother me. I just make sure if I'm going to be tuning, I run force update before I leave the house.
-
so, after a couple recent tunes i have a couple comments.
i tuned with a hondata s300 yesterday and was kind of annoyed. its not very straight forward. seems to work well once you get used to where everything is, but i like the keyboard commands with crome a lot better. also, the car was over heating just cruising at 65-70 mph. needles to say, we didnt get much tuning done. i have tuned with s300's before, but i always came in to fix the owners horrible attempt at tuning themselves so i have never set it up from scratch. there was a lot of time wasted in just figuring it out.
saturday i tuned a teg with a gsr block, ported b16 head, stage 1 type ARRGGGGHHH N/A cams, topmount and a t70 to 25psi. damn thing rips. he had drag radials and 4th gear was struggling for traction. we tuned in 5th and im not excited to say it was a street tune. i would much rather be the driver at speeds like that. last time i tuned it was around 20psi and it made 385whp. this time it pulled harder in 5th than it did in 4th during the last tune. we estimate 450whp or so, but have no idea. he plans to get it on the dyno soon at least to see what it puts down, but possibly for me to tune it more. we will see.
im not sure if that info is worth anything to anyone, but it was some recent experience with some big numbers on crome, figured i would share
