Uncle sam paid up yesterday. Combined me and the Mrs got just under $9,000. Picked up a 52" Sony Bravia and Sony Blu-Ray Player for $1,087 w/ her employee discount. Also picked up a new laptop and a throttle body from Chris. Pics up later shitstains. ;)
-
Nice deal on the TV & Bluray.
I'm saving my tax return.
-
how many fucking kids do you have to get 9,000 back ???
-
how many fucking kids do you have to get 9,000 back ???
More than 0, but less than Jay.
-
Last year's tax return was just under $14k, this year should be a little over $4k :-\
Might pick up a 40" LCD for the office, and probably some new furniture. Hopefully I'll have a little left over for the cars
-
4 soft tacos from taco bell !!!!i havent paid taxes in over 7 years, fuk the federal govt.
-
Fuckin niggers. Its expensive to have kids. I am a family of 6 and I got 9200 for federal and 705 for state. I'm claiming 6 dependants thru the year as well. I didn't make good money like I did the year before. I took a 40-50% pay cut due to how slow its been.
-
I got just over 4k back this year. I bought xbox 360 and 4 games, a new couch, a 32 inch rca lcd hdtv, a new dresser, a new washing machine, and some other dumb shit like going out to eat and stuff like that. Still got a little left over, but thats going to my wedding fund.
-
putting it toward our yearly vacation 8)
-
You guys should be buying my shit in the FS section
-
saving it up, how much you nigs make a year to get that shit back. well i guess not you guys that have kids but single guys pulling over 4000 back whats your income yearly.
i only grossed 30k but im only 22. but idk what im getting back prolly only like 1600-2100
-

'08 I was single, no kids, and claimed single and 0 for most of the year, but for about 4 months I claimed married and 9 to get more on the check. What I made is really not something I share but consider this...I had about $21k in write-offs alone. $7500 was my home credit, so really my actual income tax return was about $8500. Homeowner + write-offs for work = win
-
buying a 1985 200sx, some parts for it, then set the rest in the bank
-
I only made 22,000 last year and got back 1450. She got allot back claiming the baby. The first year w/ a new child dependent you tend to get allot and less then half of that the following years.
-
Saving it in case I don't get a job right away when I graduate in May.
-
it will most likely end up in the bank. im still looking for a tv though. maybe ill travel, work just released prices for flights, kick ass that i can go to HI roundtrip for 100 bones.

Don't feel bad. Breaking even is paying the "correct" amount of income tax all year. Screw giving the government an interest free loan.

-
Used mine to pay off my MN Twins season tickets. I only go ~$1k
-
I'm a student and I do little under 13k$ a year so I only get ~1500$. I have everything for my car, but I want slick for summer season.
-
I probably won't get hardly any back. For some reason they were barely taking any taxes out even though I filed it to take out the max. Maybe I'll get enough back for a set of springs and new bumper/hood for the Rex.

-

-
last year i owed about $300+ back. this year im expecting the same or maybe a bit more. hopefully its less but i doubt it. i do a better job at managing my money then the goverment so i try to keep it that way.

Dropping all my money on our credit card. (notice I said card and not cards) We only have 1 and it will soon not have anything on it ;D
-
So I could either
a) buy a new lcd tv
b) pay off another cc
c) save it....
-
Pay off cc. Saving it would be pointless when your paying on a card still.
-
Pay off cc. Saving it would be pointless when your paying on a card still.
Already paid off one. I want a bigger tv, but need less debt. Maybe I can get the wife to chip in on a new tv, and ill pay the cc off..

credit cards are the devil if its not a huge sum pay that fucker off
im too broke for cc's.
i maxed out a total of 20k - 30k on my cards in 2002.
lol. i pay cash for everything now.
-
I love my CC, cash gives me nothing, CC give me rewards for using it. Everything I possibly can buy with a CC I buy with the CC. I just make sure it is paid off at the end of every month, in the 12 years I have had a CC I have never carried a balance forward to the next month. In return it has given me free trips and other things. ;D
I fully agree pay of the CC first, if you put it in savings you are getting like 2% per year, so you will still be loosing 16% (based on an 18% cc) on the balance of that card.
Tv's are always on sale, it is best to be able to have the money before you buy one.

get my clutch, pistons, and rods
then pay off wahts left of my student loans and credit card and whatevers left id like to try and invest in something. idk much about investing but an ira would be cool and maybe even some stocks? i have no idea
-
Thats what my dad does but how many people really do that and not get in trouble.
All these people that can't fathom how to use a cc as a tool like dvstr describes, how do you manage not to blow your money before making rent? To me it seems like the same discipline all these people that blame cc's claim they lack, yet use every day with their cash.
-
im buying a 74mm and tb spacer from chris m, delta 272 cams, supertech springs/retainers for d16a1, cometic head gasket, acl race bearings, competition clutch, and barrings for my cg trans. if theres enough left i will get manifold shit

Canadian indians pay taxes?

Yes. We are regular citizens.
Its material items of large value that we do not have to pay taxes on. O
OR
If we work on reserve. Govt fucks you that way

Exactly. I regularly put over $1,000 a month on my rewards credit card. Every 8 months or so I get a check for $250... how nice of them. I thank everyone who pays interest on their credit cards ;)
BTW, I don't make shit for money... I just don't spend it when it hits my account. But, if an emergency does come up, I am not forced to put it on a cc... rainy day fund FTW.
-
everyone needs to stop lying, we're all spending it on hooker and blow and BJ's in the back of the tacobell parking lot
-
Does everyone just use torrented versions of TurboTax to file their taxes or do they go the professional route? Last year I used TurboTax.
-
fuck turbo tax
They lost me when they included the rootkit and spyware years ago.
taxact is what I have been using for the past 8 years.

I use H&R Block's free online tax prep software. It's been working great for years and I haven't paid a penny.
Oh, and the new "American Opportunity Credit" netted me an extra $2500 this year. Thanks Johny! ;)

May I ask how? I've tried several different combinations, read up on it, and I STILL can't it over $1000.
-
Nevermind, only 40% of it refundable. Or did you find a way to get 2500 refunded? That's the way your post seems...
-

-
I got my bed from the dumpsters. You fuckers are rich.

I read something interesting last night and I figured I would pass it on.
There are 3 main sites for online taxes. All three are about $10-25 I believe(Including the state eFile). TaxACT, TurboTAX, and H&R Block. If you have a simple return, some people have put in their taxes on all three programs and ended up where one program gave them significantly more money. Since none of them charge until you file, you could theoretically save several hundred dollars(maybe).
Also check out www.slickdeals.net (http://www.slickdeals.net) for some ways to save. They have some deals posted work looking for.
-
also checkout www.taxbrain.com (http://) cheap easy.
I let the army file mine
-
I'm a student and I do little under 13k$ a year so I only get ~1500$. I have everything for my car, but I want slick for summer season.
I just did my return. I clicked through most of it, and somehow my return is just barely more than this yet I made 3x that in 9 months of working.
FUCK YOU! I'm going to kill the world right now.
-
I made a total of 13k last year, and am getting back almost 5k. I love uncle sam

You should know how to do your taxes by hand and only use free sites to efile as a convenience. Nobody has to pay to file a federal return unless you're retarded, or have enough shit going on where you need a professional to keep track of it all for you.
Again, if you paid somebody to do your taxes you are wasting your money.

I can only guess uncle johnny is your pimp and you gave him extra special head to get that much back.
-
I like how you are all acting like you are getting free money.
I am. I paid in 997 federal, and 357 state. I'm gettting 4500 from uncle JOHNNY, and making nothing by getting all of my state back.
I can only guess uncle johnny is your pimp and you gave him extra special head to get that much back.
I did my own taxes, actually.

Try playing around with hr Block's free one. See what will alter what. You seem pretty intelligent, I'm sure you know what you are doing. I got 2k from going to college. Well, me and the old lady got 1k a piece.

I'm going to kill the world. I'm declaring all of my income as expenses despite the fact I have none.
Where's Johnny? I need him to hook me up with some koolaid. I'm going idiot.
-
If you aren't getting at least what you paid in, ITEMIZE! Hell, if it would have gotten me any more monies, I figure out my itemizations JUST for work were almost 9k. Mileage at $.55 a mile, depreciation of vehicle if you use it for work, charitable donations, etc..If you need paper to back your claim, go to your local thrift store, and make a donation. They hand you a blank piece of paper resembling a receipt. Just write in the amount you think what you donated is worth. I donated a $600 mattress 8)
-
It sounds like you are trying to get audited.
-
Nope, I can back every bit of it up. I didnt claim it though, as to not get audited. It wouldn't have given me any more money than the standard deduction of $11,400 for filing jointly. That more than covered what I payed in. But if you pay more than the standard deduction in ($5,700 single, $11,400 joint), then it would be wise to itemize.
I drove ALOT for my job. All over the east of the country, and you can deduct that if you use your personal vehicle. I did, and the standard is .55 a mile. I put 25k on my car last year, of which about 20k was work related. You can write off meals, lodging, and laundry while away on work as well. So long as you weren't reimbursed for it.
-
$6,898 back. Paid off the credit card and bought a mfactory LSD.
:noel:

need to pay 228 back.

Well, any time I traveled I was paid and I only probably put 15 miles on my vehicles for work. So no, I'm not over the standard $5700.
I'm a single white male. There is a reason why we become serial killers.

reason I stop filing my own taxes is because now I pay a lot of international bills, childcare, health insurance, life insurance, mortgage, we have 5 income, I have 2 my wife have 3, so to be safe, we let the army file it....free but you have to wait for over crowded appointment.
