Last year- 412hp, B16 tranny stock. Gave the differential meth mouth and it exited the case.
Today- 478hp, oem lsd GSR tranny. Grinding all over the place, finally popping out of 1st on the launch, grinds 3rd, and won't recognize reverse at all. Also now has a violent wobble under acceleration.

"Best" run of the day was 12.90@117, fighting that bitch to go into 4th gear. Another 3 passes, another tranny swap. I'm thinking of the trashed LS, B16, and now GSR trannys I own, something good could be created. Heat treated gears, carbon syncros, obx LSD should do it. BDVT is fat.

OEM LSD? I'm surprised it didn't exit the case, those are junk. Go for GSR gearing, or 92-93 LS gears with the later 4.40 FD.

300-350 whp, they are a lot better. Just don't wheelhop and you'll be fine.

I'm having trouble locating the timeslips from today.
My rear dicks ebrake cables are incorrect, so I currently don't have an ebrake. I do what I can on the preload though.
If I remember correctly, my best 60' today was 1.9(7?), and that seemed to be the best it hooked ever. (3 runs today with 7k launch, 3 last year and launch was set at 5k).
For the 1/8th time, I believe mid 8's at high 80's? mph.
Today would complete my only 6 passes in this car.
Transmissions on hand/condition:
B16, great gears/syncros. Meth mouthed diff.
94-01 LS, great gears/diff, smashed syncros
OEM LSD GSR, unsure what the problem is at this point.

bone will chime in and say that he has never seen a honda syncro go bad.

They wear and get hammered when you smash a not so willing trans into gear, but the teeth getting fucked up and causing crinding no. Selector sleeves do that, OR the suncro being hammered on enough and the cone/ inside of the syncro not allowing the gear to slow down.
Suyncros CAN go bad, just 90 percent of the time its the sleeves getting rounded off

that LS diff will fit in the B16 ring gear... DO IT...

OEM ITR LSD will hold 650+ whp if you never wheelhop.
The teeth on the ring gear won't be so happy.

Just have pootie and the blowfish tell you how all the ec fags make 700+ run tens and never break them.....
NEC fags you mean, we strip them out every couple events. The transmission needed to hold a 26" tire costs as much as the 650 whp car does.

Seriously though, you could do WAY better, shouldnt have much trouble making a trans that will take the beating. You need to cut some better 60's, WAYYYY better 60's 1.97 60 on a 26in slick?? are you even launching or just rolling off the line?

Levinig .. stay out of what you dont understand son. That has nothing to do with whats going on in stevies car. If its popping out, TOTALLY different issue.

I bet w/the shuttle being rhd and the engine being on the left, the weight distribution across the front tires is pretty even. So yeah you probably don't need that much tire...

i should take some pix of the sleeves and syncro's out of this b16 tranny i got...
the sleeve for 5th gear was so worn that i dont think it even touch the teeth on the gear; surprisingly 1-4th gear were ok; the hubs were shot and syncro's didnt look too happy though.
I used that trans and a minty S1 LS trans i had to make a frankentranny; b16 1-4th ls (.742) and 4.40 final drive with a cusco MZ LSD basically wound up using all the LS guts with only the b16 1-4th gear and lsd in the ls case. works beautifully but 5h is way too tall for anything but highway cruising

That is installer error. Synchro wasn't aligned when the hub was HAMMERED on.

Wrong. Ive seen it too in my own shit, and know what it happened after. It surely wasnt hammered on during assembly, but hammered on under power is another story sir

Well, that should help the situation. Took the roofing eurathane mounts out and found that many places the eurathane had seperated from the mount itself. Actually, I think the mounts are the root of the problem. Now I just have to frankentranny these 3 piles of shit I have laying here.
Took the gsr trans apart, and didn't notice any shavings or anything unusual other than one of the gears (not sure which one it is) being ground down a little.

When they look like that they try to get UNDER the hub too and will crack the hubs if beaten hard enough...
