a higher CR to help spool that thing... but i might not have a prob. becuz the holset hc1 that dude ran is bigger around 1. something hot side??
he made with a set upof Eagle/Vitara Y7 279 whp 210 tq 11.200@124.5, 1.68 60 ft. they came with a z6 intake mani and i belive he told me 23 psi

your tuner should have set you up with boost cut paremiters! its added with the extra feathers lc,cel shit light ect and is really good to have ! it looks like your shit went really lean..

I had a z6 head on a y7 block for a while, the ARP's needed were a "d16y" kit, along with one longer stud for the corner. I actually have the set if you'd want to buy it. Otherwise you just use the y7/y8 bolts and one z6 bolt. It may be two, but do a search for the writeup.

Spool rpm is NOT related to compression. The turbine accellerates based flow induced by a big pressure drop. To do that you feed MASS into the exhaust. Higher compression does NOT draw any more air into the cylinder, it just absorbs more efficiently (to simplify it). Ask Jeff Evans for his dyno graph on the B18 where they did nothing but swap out a stock 9:1 bottom end for a built 10:1 bottom end, both tuned back to back. The *ONLY* change was power created per PSI during boost. Off-boost power was about 2-3hp greater, which is small enough to blame on atmospheric conditions or even fresh oil.

Close. :P Turbine is an enthalpy converter. Takes energy from the exhaust and turns it into work. h = U + PdV. U is a function of temperature and density, which is a function of the engine's thermal efficiency. if you could run 4000:1 compression and not detonate, you'd have a 97ish % thermally efficient engine. It would make tons of power N/A, but with less than 3% of the energy going out the exhaust, there would be little left to drive a turbine to drive a compressor.
But "common wizzdom" says lower comp hurts spool. :?:

found out that my turbo is a v-trim. Great compressor. 54.5mm and 100% efficient till about 42lbs/min. being its such a big bitch ima swap the turbine housing to convert it to a T3/T4 and swapped out the T4 turbine components with T3 turbine components ; to have a quick spooling turbo and still get to utilize the v-trim. If i converted it to a T3/T4 that would make it a T3/TO4B v-trim which is an absolutely exceptional turbocharger for 400whp>. Get that P-trim wheel outta there along with the oversized turbine housing
anyone see anything wrong with this?
