I was going to do this, but one of the items you need requires like 200 piece purchase minimum, which is ridiculous..

its all in the pgmfi wiki

If you plan on just doing a couple ecu's your better off just be a kit one at a time.

I'm up for a group by if sockets are included and maybe some of those 3 or 4 bar map sensors thrown in the mix. ;D
Title: Re: digikey part number list for obd1 vtec chipping kits

you dont need to order 200 pieces of any of the parts. some items have a minimum order quantity but none were more then like 25. but it doesnt matter when the piece is only $.05. cant expect them to ship one resistor by itsself lol. thats the exact receipt from last time i ordered from them, and you can see in the QTY section there is usually a minimum but you just adjust how many kits your ordering to be able to use all the parts.

yea i don't mind organizing the group buy if you guys want to go nutz with it.  more parts = more discount.  i'm going to be buyin a few map sensors as well.  depending on the interest in the next few posts we can decide what to do

I can afford 5-10 kits w/ sockets together and 5 map sensors. If we can keep it $100usd or less for my contribution.

j/k, i dont' know how many people want shit so it will be a bit before prices would be finalized.  just check in, and maybe later this weekend if we start to have an idea of how many parts of each we need i could come up wiht an estimate

Fuck a ZIF, get machine pin sockets and reap their eternal reliability.  Best of all, you can buy them from a company called ASSMANN.   :)

http://www.usa-assmann.com/Specs/ARxx-HxL-TT-R.pdf (http://www.usa-assmann.com/Specs/ARxx-HxL-TT-R.pdf)

Also, PWM is the same transistor as used by the IACV circuit, 220 and 330 ohm 1/2 watt resistors, and a 1N4002 diode (have used lesser rated 4001s with no problems).

i assume not use ZIF if you runs with ostrich or something like that, but if you runs without one and need remove chip all the time, using zif is easiest..

Not when the ZIF falls apart.  They are pretty fragile.

JD- Can I use 1n4004 for the diode? also I'm not sure which circuit the iacv is. Can you point me to what is the transistor type and are there suppose to be two transistors? the pwm kits sold show two totally different transistors. Thanks.

One is one of the small transistors everything uses, in this case to switch the big transistor on and off.

You have all the part numbers there, so...?

OK great thanks. Now as far as the 1n4002. I know the differences between the 1n4002 and the 1n4004 is that the 1n4004 has a much higher reverse voltage rms, I just want to know if i can use the 1n4004 instead of the 1n4002. Only reason I ask is cause I already have a bunch of 1n4004 for chipping kits and don't want to have to buy a different one if i have to. Thanks.

1N4001-1N4004 are interchangeable.  It's just a silicon diode, dude.  Passes voltage one way with a 0.3v drop, and refuses it the other direction.

200 nanosecond memory = solid CEL.  The factory chipped Honduhs ran 170 ns memory, but I've had issues with 150 ns stuff.  You NEED 120 ns or better, and keep in mind that the last zero isn't always included in the part number so -20 is a 200 ns memory.

I believe 90 or 70 ns is the fastest these chips come in, and 250 the slowest (mostly old school 27C256 window chips), so don't thin a -25 is a screamer.  :P

I would say 50 are plenty for a few years at least. Your supplier might get them from suppliers in China, but unfortunately SST is the ones that stopped production of them. So as we are finding out suppliers still have some lying around. I do agree that the moates burner and William burners will be a thing of the past. I personally like the moates ostrich v.2.

I will send a 27sf512 to anybody that will send me a 74hc373. I need it to chip my OBD1 PR4, and I can't find it below 1$ ... and 25$ of chipping.  Tabarnak.

Is there an equivalent to the 74hc373? Think of it give me your 1$ chip and I'll send you my 5$ 27sf512 ;)

Edit: the 27sf512 never been used and I need a 28pin socket too.

I want to know what people use from digikey for IC14 when doing a 1720 board vtec conversion?  seems the 5050 5151 variants are no more and the IR6220-ND hasn't been in digikey's catalog since '05.  i'm no electronics genius so would this work:

The IR part number is still on the digi key site, you just have to cross refernce it from the old one you posted.

Try this one.  ;)

Just heard back from a supplier, and they can offer a much better price than bdent or the digikey equivalent.  Genuine SI-5151S.  Just have to order enough to make it worth while.

Who would be interested in getting some SI-5151s for about $2.5-$3 a piece?

These bad boy's supposedly can replace the sst 27c512's and they are cheap as fuck. I havent tried one yet but you can get them through the middle man for less than $2 a piece.

No they don't.  Those chips burn and that's all - if they worked I wouldn't have to get up early in the mornings.

I'll start alright.  I have enough of these chips to start a small sweatshop, you'd think I'd be living the easy life skimming off the top of their hard work, yet all they do is lay there in their tubes.  I tell them to wash the dishes, do some laundry, etc, but they just lay there.  Hell, they won't even socket themselves even if I carry their lazy asses to the ECU.

Worst chips ever.   :mexi:

Any chance of reviving a possible group buy for chipping kits.

I'm looking at 20+ for me if we can get them for uber cheap. ;D

I like machine pins a LOT better than solder tails, but you doubled the price going for a low profile socket.  Here's the same thing from the same company only in regular height which isn't at all tall to begin with:
