I use to be in the auto field for 11 yrs. ASE certified P2 retail parts look up.

ASE recertification test was the easiest test I ever taken in my life it was a joke 15min. to answer 35 questions and look over it to make sure I did not miss anything.

The pay sucked and my need to finish my engineering degree grew too strong.

I now have a good paying job with just a A.S. in Engineering.  ;D

Remember it is never to late to follow your dreams.

Not me Mang...

I head up GMAC's marketing program for extended warranties. Which are only GM related by name and owned primarly by Cerberus, soon to be broken off into a new public company since no private entity can own more then 9.9% of us under the new restructuring. Believe it or not, we make money, lots and lots of it.

Still, I am scared shitless to be here with the uncertaintity of the auto industry, I left GM's ad agency as a senior Tech editor for print media. GMAC also carries the extended warranty for Subaru and Suzuki (auto and powersports)

As for the "assurance/ confidence/ no job don't worry" programs. ... There have been private insurance co's offering this for a while, everyone followed suit when Hyundai did it.

I am waiting another 5 mos. before I buy a house or newer car ...until all this shit is done with.

couple short vids of us checking end caps for leaks before we got them anodized

6in CIOD PVC pipe burst test (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wJcerRTdFIQ#hq)

12in CIOD PVC pipe burst test (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JK4Cxgi4UH0#lq-hq-vhq)

These were run straight off a pump, standard tests the sample is longer and the pressure is released from a bank of accumulators so the pressure always increases linear even with pipe expansion.

Starting June 1st i'll be a full-time mechanical engineer in the Oil & Gas industry.  I am in a rotational engineering development program to figure out what exactly I like while working towards my masters.  Here is a pic of one of the compressors I worked on last summer back when I was an intern:

(https://realhomemadeturbo.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi4.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fy101%2Frsmith2786%2Fscrew.jpg&hash=4762cfddfcdee2d5e0184efdfb2af4cd9e1805bc)

We also make huge centrifugal compressors that basically look like the cold side of a turbo except 20 feet in diameter.

Stealing people's identities is a profitable business.

Seriously, why does anyone believe a word that Marc types?  Last week he couldn't afford to pay rent for a $900/mo apartment, and today he is making $400/day.  He's a druggie, pill popping loser.  He is all smoke and mirrors.  People don't join the army to get blown up by an IED when they are making $400/day.  They join the army when they are making $70/day before taxes.

I've been programming software and websites since I was 16.. never had to work for anyone aside from the lawsuit in '01 from a street racing accident.

Some months I make nothing, others are a different story. the most i've ever made was around $80k in 9 months, and average $500 a week since I started. I actually programmed hacking apps and open source projects for many years before turning my skills into revenue.

btw, 156k is my annual salary when I combine my estimated military income (housing/clothing/tax advantage included), and my internet income.

It also doesn't matter much when you are full of shit.  When you can't afford $900/mo rent and talk like Marc, you know you are full of shit.  You also don't join the army when you are skilled enough to make $80k in 9 months.  You also don't wait tables, when you make $400/day.  Again, smoke and mirrors.  100% bullshit.

Tip for web development... learn Javascript.  It's simple and very much in demand.. and also surprisingly not as common as you would think.  I don't mean normal client side jscript, I mean Ajax, ExtJS, etc.  Gmail, iGoogle, Facebook, etc are all pretty much entirely Ajax.  You know how shit updates on the page without the whole page refreshing?  That's Ajax.  Web 2.0 is big right now because it provides a richer user experience, almost like a complete application (Outlook) on a web page (Gmail).

Baller shit.  Learn it.  Add it to resume.  Profit.

I am a power lineman working for a large utility in the northeast.  I climb poles, work out of a bucket, rubber glove up to 15000v, and Ive done a little hot sticking live 34500v.  Ive done some transmission work (dead 115kv and 138kv lines etc) climbed towers, some 115+ft steel and some 95ft poles (have pics off the top haha). Electricity is unforgiving but the job is rewarding.  Im one of the first people they call when there is an outage or an emergency (911 call, car accident, fire etc). I enjoy it

Profit.

You sound like a man who loves his job.  What do you do, again?
