hey guys, so i installed a used turbo kit for a friend and we have a wierd whining sound when we hit 9 psi, it sounds like when you squish the end of a full baloon, or farting really fast from a small ass:)
this is an example of the sound on a srt 4:

i'v checked for vacume leaks and fixed everything,
tested the charge pipes for leaks,
replaced 3 blow off valves.
holds 10.3 psi like a champ.
anyone have an idea? first time i hear this type of noise on a car :S
my next tests are fuel pump/pressure. and the oring inside the compressor housing,

i did it, no air is leaking, from the charge pipes
i will check for leaks behind the compressor tommorow.

Why are you taking rippers on a car with a CEL?

I believe that's not the car in question, just a video he found making the same noise.

Either the turbo is unbalanced, or something like a pcv valve is leaking oddly. How about a leaky wastegate?

the pcv valve is drilled out and routed to the catch can along with the valve cover breather.
i think the turbo is good the spool sounds clean,
well. i tested the fuel pressure today (the car has a walbro pump fused and relayd from the battery and a OEM fpr,
the gauge shows 50 psi at idle, and it dosnt change when i dissconnect the vacume line,
it also dosnt change when i drive the car. odd one,

What OEM FPR? SRT-4 are a factory returnless setup.

solved:
it was the damn chinese plastic "T" from a fake hks bov that i used to increase boost for tuning,
one of the ports was closed!!!!!! :S
so the wastegate was closed all the time and the compressor port boosted out from the open side of the T, thats what caused the whistle!
i could never know it since i set boost cut for 10.3 psi :S
