i made 2 of them years ago. obd0 and obd1. it was just a 9v battery to power up the ecu, and a LED on the CEL wires. it blink? ECU is fine, solid? try again.

made it when i blew up the crx then sold it. so i couldnt in car test anymore.

how did you do that exactly?

I remember that stole your idea to test a couple obdo ecu's

worked perfect

power, ground, LED signal from MIL ECU wire, other side to ground.... ill look for pics later, they are probably on old comcast.

obd0 i used pins: A13 power, A16 ground... you hook up a standard 9v battery. if the light in the ECU blinks your golden.

obd1 i used pins: A25 power, B2 ground... one side of LED to power the other to A13, D4 to ground... again 9v battery for power/ground.

havent found pics yet. im sure they are on my PC... and i still might have these testers around somewhere.

found this one that leed did forever ago. way nicer than one i made lol

only tests that its not a solid CEL, not to trouble shoot the functions of the ECU.

add a resistor to the CEL circuit if your using an LED;  it doesnt get pulled down enough and lights up dim.

damned LED's are efficient these days.

My moates engine sim always has dim lit LED's.

i dont know how efficient is this tester...it says my ecu is good but when i connect to the car is throwing solid cel.. :noel:

P.D already ordered a moates engine simu..
