Title: New fmic
Post by: JaredKaragen on September 11, 2012, 04:11:33 AM
Traded a wastegate for the fmic.

Hacked some exhaust; scavengened my coupler bin.  Weld weld weld. Win.  Work done.

Painted black after pic taken.

Yes I used an outdoor lift.

That dirty bitch has seen roughly 100k across 3 cars.  Only "tap" it out to dislodge rocks.  I have to reverse down a long dirt driveway to my pad; gets rather dusty.

This is a baller fmic.  I thought it was an even trade.  Can barely pick it out unless u look.  Very Cali acceptable.

And this is after running no fmic for years :)

If my memory serves me in theory:  my egr is opening around 10psi on its own.  Exhaust pressure tends to overcome intake pressure enough to open it at this level.   I keep hitting a brickwall that feels like almost like fuel cut;  very shitty.  Gonna make a blockoff plate for testing.

Also continplating putting either a t04e or my 18g on :)

It looked like a WG on your BOV spot, but now I can see that's probably an EGR valve?

hahaha...  theres an egr on the intake manifold... which is the source of my brick wall,   but...

that's an actual blowoff valve.  Its from a volvo;  in fact the same exact volvo as this turbo.  Bolted it to one of the T3 bolt holes for a "one piece" unit/purchase =)

Lol. Yeah, that totally looks like an egr valve!     Never seen one like that before.  Always the stupid plastic bosch elbow looking ones.

I had a bov like that along time ago on a crx. It held up nicely for a $5 bov
