Title: Ran a 10.12@151mph in the Integra yesterday..
Post by: gringotegra on September 24, 2012, 12:13:33 AM
I should have a video up tomorrow of the pass.

After running in Spokane last weekend, my best up there at 4300DA was a 10.6@143. I decided to head out to Woodburn for one last time this season, to try and get a better time in the car.

First pass of the day was the 10.12@151. I actually hit rev limiter crossing the line in 4th gear. I guess 24.5's and 9500rpm only get you that much lol

60ft: 1.653
330ft: 4.574
1/8th: 6.789@112.83
1000ft: 8.627
1/4 mile: 10.128@151

This was only at about 23-24psi in 3rd and 4th gear.

So the next pass i upped the boost in 2nd/3rd/4th. Should have been almost full boost in my car which is only 26psi. Upped the rpm to 9800.

60ft: 1.652
330ft: 4.567
1/8th: 6.911@110.94
1000ft: 8.627
1/4 mile: 10.29@151

So this pass was going to be better, until i missed 3rd gear....  Notice the trap in the 1/8th is down 2mph but still went the 151. I think it has a solid 153-154mph trap in it. But at this time i can only Bench race about what it should do lol.

I need to give it some more power in every gear and shift it like there is no tomorrow to get that 9 sec pass. I know it will do it, the power is there and mph shows it, i just need to drive it.

I only got 2 passes. On the end of that last pass the car shut off and would not start back up. No fuel or Spark. Brought it back to the pits and quickly diagnosed it and found the ECU fuse burned up for whatever reason. Threw another in there and tried to start the car but it quickly showed it had a problem when smoke started coming out of the dash area. Traced it to one of the main relay wires burned up. So there is an issue somewhere.

The car has never had any problems like this over the 6 years i have had it and i bought it BONE stock.

Quick setup rundown:

Sleeved 84mm GSR
10.5:1 JE pistons

They are nice. i had the first set, we tested them vs the ITR cams and they were a pretty good increase overall.

The post i made is here: http://www.realhomemadeturbo.com/forum/index.php/topic,17371.msg206227.html#msg206227 (http://www.realhomemadeturbo.com/forum/index.php/topic,17371.msg206227.html#msg206227)

And i have a few videos of the car idling. Imagine a DSM/EVO with some 272's or bigger at idle.

It is a good looking car that is obviously making good power, but it front halves like ASS. Spends some time on your 60' and 330' and it will be a 9 second car.

It seems like the GSC cams are making great power in a few motors. I tried emailing them a while back to see if maybe they would make a cam for the sohc motors but never got a reply. I also tried calling a number of times but could never get anyone to return my calls....

Thats odd, Greg normally answers the phone himself and is ready to talk. Not very often you call a place as big as GSC and get to talk directly to the owner. I know he plans on making DOHC Springs/retainers for us very soon. Should be priced to beat the Supertech's and have a 90-95lb seat pressure.

As far as SOHC a SOHC cam, don't think he plans on making one. I will ask him tomorrow tho.

In Spokane, it felt a little wobbly. Not sure if there are some bumps at the end of the track or what but it was a little shaky up there.

Wooburn, was nothing. It really was stable. Felt better and more stable than it was racing the HPF M3 last year.

This is true, I wonder if the added stiffness will help the 60'
