I hope are not talking about PFI in Colorado.
Every customer car I've seen them touch runs like shit.
That is why I'm driving all the way Washington to get a quality tune can not trust those guys.
When they are working on there own cars or track cars you get some ok results.
Last time I went to Bandimere a couple of years ago those guy could not figure out why the oil dipstick kept popping out on their turbo h22 prelude.
I will like to see them use someone else's dyno and see if they actually get 700bhp.

shit is broken so it no longer holds no records i can prolly get away with running 800hp in 1 pass and blowing it up a lil later so w/e to me that shit means they blow
-
that carnage is way more impressive then a 600whp stock sleeve d series
-
ripper vid?
-
Carnage vid?

track times is what matters. I doubt the thing will hold one pass at that level, actually I know it wont.

i only read the first page but they said they ran i think 3 passes and the best time was only 12.0 with troubles on every pass. sounds like they were going for a dyno queen

;D hell yes.

haha, thats a fucking awsome pic

lol fill the whole block with devcon. no water pump or coolant
good luck with hot lapping that
-
Filling the block solid with Devcon would work fine on alcohol. Can't hot lap or street the car, drag only.

maybe i will do it on a d15 build..

i do have a spare B8 laying around.... but exactly how would you know if you're overheating? temp sensor in the devcon?

are you serious
-
about the B8? no
about the temperature, yes. do you just run the engine as little as possible all the time? both temp sensors are in coolant passages I thought
-

oil temp... alcohol/e85/methanol don't run hot...
-
Eh, they can and do run hot if you try to drive them on the street. Well, maybe not methanol, but it is "cooler" than ethanol as well as more corrosive and I have zero experience with it.
I'm not sold on alcohols in a big power serious build w/ cooling jacket filled. E85 or the like runs super cool on an aggressive streetcar and makes a lot of sense (financially, thermally, etc), but alcohols become very volatile very quickly when you push their octane limits and shoving the cooling of the entire engine off on the fuel lowers the knock limit considerably. People run it a lot on V8s (with block filled) but frankly those cars are making 600-800 and running 9-10s, and you can get those numbers with pumpgas and a cooling jacket.
I think you could do a really slick budget NA car off E85 and a filled block, pile on 15:1 compression and block off the grill opening to reduce Cd. I wouldn't do it with a turbo car.

I know. Im bumping an old ass thread. As far as PFI being a bunch of hacks... I wouldnt go to ANY other shop in Colorado. But to each his own. Just keep in mind that PFI had the first (in Colorado) cars into the 12s, 11s, 10s, 9s, only car in the 8s, and soon to claim 7s (I posted a few pics in my thread, of the puke green PFWD coupe, F20C, Powerglide, Boat V-Drive, Ford 9 inch, etc, etc, etc.)
And the car specified in this thread went 10.7 at like 140+ (at altitude). Then blew up again. LOL. Jeffs an asshole anyways. But the nigs just too cheap to build a real block. But I do believe hes sleeving one finally, and going with a D-B adapter, hoping to see 9s at altitude.
Oh, and tons of Domestics, and even some Sport Compact/Import racers run hard blocks. It aint nothin new.
Sorry for the bump. Just couldnt resist.

I am pretty sure brian furkins holds that record for first in the tens. Phat N Low from back in the day.
