can anyone say prerunner?
-
i love these recession deals you keep getting
-
thats awesome.
-
Nice, a buddy of mine was going to put his old SVO parts on one and boost the piss out of it, don't know if he had found a truck yet. That would be an interesting ride.
-
So what Id LIKE to do...
Sell the Cougar
Keep the Ranger
FIgure out what to use for management
small Ching Chong Turbo
GFI manifold
FMIC
Boost this slut....
JUst like to see maybe a 50 HP increase, motor is FRESH, has only 40K on it and compresion is solid and consistant.
Profit
-
flip it
-
TunerPro or EEC editor will be good for tuning it. Moates has some cool stuff to cover the hardware side.
Im guessing Jd nuts are sweating right now, hes been feening for a minitruck.
-
Ya i thought originally about flipping it... I have less than 250 in it total. It ooks alor better than in the pics since i did a detail after the initial de funking....
I put it on CL just to see interest, people have been POUNDING my phone trying to come and see the truck.
Started thinking about it. It has 53K on it is clean as hell... Maybe I should sell the cougar... SO I think thats what Im going to do... Selling the truck = 2Gs in the bank, selling the cougar would get me around 800ish (cleaned the shit out of it now the old lady likes the car). I dont know, but if I keep it it will be boosted I think,
It has the wierd dual plug motor that has 2 per cylinder, dual coil packs too...
the drivers side plugs are a nigger to change since you have to remolve the upper plenum to get at them, But I justwant like 30-40 more HP. anyone know shit about these motors????
Or is this a bad idea???
Like I said, the motor is in great shape solid compression. Has a header on it too... hahahahaa Lil sink trap or something??? Love to see the look on riders faces as the ranger blew off pulling on them...
Its a MAF setup so..
Ya, info, thoughts?????
-
you can do those plugs with the upper intake on it. You need a turbo coupe engine swap!
-
Hmmmmm I shall seek one out
It could happen unless I change my mind.
with the bigger tires that are on it though 5th gear is retarded even on the freeway as its suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuper long... if a HEADWIND hits youy, back to 4 yhou go, thats why Id just like a bit more ooomph
-
Slap a decent cam in it
-
jeff boosted one with mike g. used the stock 2.3 turbo mani, cdm turbo, some random junkyard 380-440cc injectors computer was a reflashable unit?? cant remember the name.... there was a post about it on HMT, if you can still get there, and bitch didnt delete it :-\
-
Driver side plugs are harder than they look. I did mine pretty quick.
Remove the plastic resonator thats on the intake arm and replace it with a pipe. Thats a few HP you can actual feel. Remove the Converter and the truck feels like its got 20 more hp.
I tow my civic with my ranger in 5th gear at 2500-3000 rpm with no problems at all. Dont really ever need to get 4th unless its a long hill.
What kind of gears in the rear ? Mines got 3.73's so it feels peppy in the 1st few gears.
BTW, good looking truck.
-
Damn thats a though decision. I would probably just sell the bitch and keep the money. Thats a $1780 profit..
-
BDVT, I would just keep the pickup. Its ALWAYS handy to have one.... especially if you have to move transmissions areound with regularity.
It does look pretty clean... and realistically, it will probably be worth the same $2000 it's worth now, even a year from now. So I would drive it use it enjoy it and then sell it later on if somthing better comes along. Otherwise you have a decent truck to run around in and pick up parts when nessesary.
For managment... what about an AEM F/IC... they're pretty cheap and have spark and fuel control? Should be able to get one for less then $400 no?
-
The duel plug head is where its at. They are suppose to be better than the turbo coupe heads. Keep it and do a low buget setup on it and have fun.
-
http://www.turborangerforums.com/ (http://www.turborangerforums.com/) Possibly a good place to start getting a plan together
-
Sweet. THX for the info. It needs emmisions done now for title transfer (and the tabs are up next month), so ill do that and then omit the cat... WIll also stuff a K&N on the end of a HMT style intake for it for now. I HAVE to leave the MAF where itr is or can I make a whoile new intake for it as long as the MAF is still implemented???
The rear end gears coupled with the tall 5th and the bigger tires that are on it (NICE mud and snows all the way around, they howl a bit on the freewaqy which i dig O0) Make it doggy in 5th, but Ill do what youre talking about and see if I notice a difference... It cruises nicely at about 70 in fifth, but like I mentioned it needs to be shifted down when approaching hills or a strong headwind... LOL.
I think Ill keep it, as the milage is really low and I was also thinking that it will hold its value well if I dont beat the shit out of it... I get a kick out of knowing the Accords old OEM fuel pump is in it...
HAHAHAHA
-
MAF can be relocated
-
You could get the comp, maf, injectors, exhaust manifold and harness from a turbo coupe and almost drop it all right in. Not much modding/fabbing would need to be done at all.
-
I tow my civic with my ranger in 5th gear at 2500-3000 rpm with no problems at all. Dont really ever need to get 4th unless its a long hill.
Like a car trailer or just a dolly?
-
blow thru the maf and run a fuckin fmu. thats how i turboed my probe gt v6 and it was funny as fuck.
-
STOCK MAF AND INJECTORS???
-
STOCK MAF AND INJECTORS???
Get a foxbody MAF
-
So far I see the options as
Option A: Sell it for crack, hookers and mcdonalds, binge for 3 days and by then you'll run out of money
Option B: Drive it into a ditch and fill it full of bullet holes from an AK
Option C: Use it to take over the world, we all know its capable of this
Option D: Weld spikes on the front and weld pneumatic powered whips everywhere, drive around maiming and whippin niggas, also spray paint on the side "Call-me-Massa-Mobile"
-
i love these recession deals you keep getting
it is good time to be josef stalin!
-
Tow dolly. No trailer.
BTW dude, check out the rear leaf spring shackles and hangers. They are notorious for rotting and leaving you stranded.
But yours is low mileage so it will prob be fine.

You have to post pic's of yours, SO SO Clean!
Could always do a 2.3 block with a volvo head :noel:.
It doesn't really rip on less than 20 psi... and every time I turn it up to 20 psi, I blow a headgasket. Gotta get my low compression shortblock together. :-\

Yeah ive heard the 2.3's will hold some boost. I say force it till she pukes ringlands and or rods.
if you blow it toss another 300 at it for a block get it back road worthy and then sell it, Profit.
-
nice rig for 100 plus the parts.
you could easily sell it for a lot more.
-
If you really want to boost it just drop in a $200 jy 2.3T.
Personally, I'd sell it.

I think the one jeff did was called the danger ranger.
-
My god. Did that cougar come with 55 cent senior coffees at teh Mickey D's? Im fairly sure those models also came with free AARP memberships too.
Everytime i see one i cant help but think it smells like urine and shame inside that car.
Sell the Geriatric-mobile dude.
-
we need to see pics of your nig ass in the truck with a bed full of sluts dragging bumper on the ground arab taxi style
He doesn't need the bed full of sluts for he bumper to drag. O0
-
Put a 2.3T and a T5 trans in that thing - you'll have no regrets. Keep it simple - big intercooler (powerstroke or volvo), manual boost controller (20psi), 3" straight pipe (stacks? :noel: ), and a 40bob.com manifold. Bulletproof setup.
Here's a friend's truck I helped build (NOT a bulletproof setup...)
(July 09, 2005 - EEC-IV Merkur computer and a stock merkur T3 with a Dodge turbo II compressor wheel/housing swap. INSTA-SPOOL. At 18 psi, it got rubber in 3rd from a roll.)
