So i bought this 88 katana for 400$ cause the guy could never get it to run right after someone "rebuilt" the carbs.

Started taking parts off and then thought mayb i should grab a pic first lol
Anyways, put fuel in it and it stank and was leaking out the airbox, thought no problem, stuck float, big deal.
Opened up all the carb bottoms to clean and check float adjustment only to find this

Not on one carb but on TWO carbs

So it should be good, but for how long?
The floats are plastic and very light.
I drilled holes into both parts and put in some strands of speaker wire to act as rebar, hopefully it holds.
Anyone else think the vibration will make it drop off again? i may be underestimating the strength of jesus-bond tho

What, the pivot pin for the float had the mounts broken off?
IDK how the JB will hold up over time, sir, but I commend your resourcefulness and if they come off again seek the assistance of a TIG machine. :noel:

Yep, the pivot pin, i hope the person that did the carbs didnt do any other work on the bike, now i have to check everything to make sure im not gonna lose a weel or something gay. I also have to recover the seats in black and paint tank to get rid of that damn blue issue lol

somebody gorilla'ed the shit out of those pin mounts. Did they put the carb in a hydraulic press to get the pin out?

JB weld holds up on fuel. i actually have some sealing a fitting on my fuel line right now. you should be fine.

this exact thing is one of my fears, float bowl sticking and fuel just pouring out the carbs while im driving down the road and then poof fucker turns into a fireball with me still on it.
