u are my motivation hahahah good job nukka

Nice work as always. Was this on the new tune? How much did you end up making? What track?
-
I really neeed to take a flight to the east coast and go for a rip in this one.
-
Jay finish yours you have almost all the same shit.
Congrats again man. Glad to see people still going to the track. california races are fuckin dead these days the sport has really died out here.
-
Nice,
HF axles rule!!!!
-
dude... i looked at my std axles, same as the ones you have. seriously so damn thin. i really hope i run into you at the track someday soon so i can see that badboy run!
also thanks for helping me decide to go back to d!
-
Dictionary definition excellence, sir, and nothing less. O0
-
Thanks guys. Im surprised the car went any better with shitty conditions (on off rain/heat/humidity).
Car has not been retuned. Only things ive changed since last tune are TB spacer, lsd, and an inline fuel pump.
And now the car is on straight 116. Seems to like the octane even without retuning.

Nice, so when is it getting retuned?
-
its rumored you hate e-town, which i can agree on.... but are you running this sat at honda day?
-
The rumor is correct.
I do WANT to go, but Ive got work on saturday unless something happens.
As far as a retune. Hopefully very soon.
-
Is the turbo holding boost now that you have everything tight?
-
Good stuff.
-
pretty sick man. keep it up
fuck i need more torque.
-
Good stuff man. Makes me wish I turned the boost up in my single cam when I had it.
-
pretty fucking awesome SOHC FTMFW
-
9's are not too far off
-
fucking bastard cheating all the rules!!!!!!!!!!
GO DOG GO!!!!!!!!!!!

what if we got something going where everyone paypals you a little bit of $ to cover the missed work so you can run.
-
What if you blew off work to make people on the internet happy?
-
no vids?
:-[

Whats the fastest people have ran on these pistons? Its refreshing to see a car actually putting the power to the track for once.
-
9's are not too far off
.453 is pretty far off from 9's. Typically you are looking at an increase of 50-100hp to get that half a second. 9's vs 10s in these FWD cars is a pretty big step.

There is a good amount more power to be made on his setup, just wait and see!
-
Sadly D-series are D-series. They make 400-450whp fairly easily now. 500whp+ is the issue. Small bore, poor flowing head, not great cams, ect ect ect keep the engines from getting in that 500whp/9second world. It can be done and he could do it. My point is 10.5 vs 9.99 is a big difference and going for a 9 second pass will require a good bit of more power and a good amount of luck.
-
If he launches harder he could run a 10.3 or so, but I agree a 9 would take 50-60 more whp and good driving.
-
I don't want people to take my comments as being negative. His car is kick ass and is doing it while spending half what most other people do to get the same results. I'm just trying to set some realistic expectations that most people don't get. 9s vs 10s is mph and mph=overcoming air resistance. The easiest way to do that is make more power. Making more power = breaking more shit. I'd say his drive train is due to explode. The other thing he can do is making 600whp and spin his tires off the line. His times for his weight/power will be garbage, but his drive train will survive. Sadly, his engine won't make 600whp for more than a few passes. So he's stuck either blowing the engine or blowing his drive train to pieces. If he feels like getting technical and anal, he should work on aerodynamics. It's a thankless modification in a lot of ways because you end up spending a lot for a little, but your car tends to survive a lot longer because you really do reduce a lot of the stress on the car.
If the goal is a 9 second pass, tune for 500-525whp and get smaller slicks than you need. Hopefully with the 100hp and slightly worse traction you can make a few passes without exploding.
-
I wouldn't take a hit in traction, I'd just not pile all the power on until the top end.
Really, the 60' is *everything* in drag racing. Don't give it up.
-
From what I gather the track he races at is subpar at best. An event that actually has a well prepared track Im sure the car would lay down low 10's right out of the box.
Pomona raceway was the shit back in the day everyone would cut 3 tenths off their times due to track conditions vs other sea level tracks IN california that are now shopping malls.
In my view the car has the ability to run a very low 10/high 9 with more seat time/well prep track.

Hickmans old yellow 9 sec car was all 1/8 mile since the car only had 450-475 whp. 1.4 60 foots sure make a difference.
-
Solid 60's make life easier. Again, you are fighting air resistance at high mph and that means you need to make power. Good 60's means you need a drive train strong enough to take that launch. You need power or drive train no matter how you figure it. With boost, power is typically cheaper.

Still looking for a Dirt cheap wet kit.
I think that just for top end will get him there.
-
The car has LOTS more left in the 60.
I just need more time to experiment.
IMO @ this same track the car has a 10.3x in it. For sure. Even at the same boost. I get the car to go 1.5x in the 60 and its golden for 10.3x
Im looking to get 2-3 more psi out of it real soon.
Ill let you all know how it goes.
I only have a vid of my last 10.9 run. Its not worth posting. It was the worst run Ive ever made.
-
What if you blew off work to make people on the internet happy?
shit and the whole crowd at etown!
-
nice numbers man!!!! what track??????
-
Island Dragway.
I really CANT take off work. 3 guys are on vacation ( I know I know ) and another took off to go to E town.
I owe my boss a lot since he gave me a great job when I really needed it.
-
understandable. what about fall nats?

This is not a 10.5" Outlaw with 1000+ whp that it can't bring to bear until after the 1/8th, sir. If Joe gave me his car, I'd rather have .2 off my 60' than another 100 whp.
-
I just noticed your on 23" slicks. That is impressive indeed.

I think you should grab some center rear seat belts from the yard...

Its great to see this car still going strong. keep up the good work.

Whats dirt cheap? I have one that I'm not using. Nitrous Express 10lb bottle, Fuel & Nitrous solenoids, bottle brackets, lines, 35-55-75 shot jets. I'll throw in the Edelbrock purge solenoid too ;D Pm me and let me know whats up.
-
Goforth has a few Zex boxes, probably free, the lines/bottles all went to something else. FYI
-
im assuming when you retune it will be on straight race gas, and what... 28-30psi?
-
so this is the fastest vitara motor propelled vehicle ever? nice.

He is looking for a wet kit. I have been looking all around for a few months to get him something cheap, so far no luck......

It IS a wet kit. It was going on my 2g awd dsm but I popped the hg and am parting it out in favor of a CB7 Coupe. Seriously whats cheap for a used wet kit with 99% of the shit to put it in?
-
i offered joe a dirty cheap wet kit a while ago
i ended up selling it to joey for like 200 shipped.
-
lol@bigwig...
I think Joe just wants to have fun with his car. 9's would just be a plus!!
But i will say this tho. That car has A LOTTTTT more left in it. And you have to take in consideration that at a better prepped track it will go .10 faster on teh same power/set up.
Other factors to consider is that he is on a 23" tire . But trust me when i say the car HOOOOKS!!, he is still on a POS manual boost controller ( when more power gets put into the car and a better controller or boost by gear will help manage the power). And also SEAT TIME , he might go weeks b4 even touching the car ( i bet if he had 2 back to back days getting the car dialed in it will go much faster).
Time will tell
Right now he is THEE quickest on Vitaras and 2nd overall . (top 10 list)
Street Cars

2. Dr. D Series - 10.45@132 mph (on Vitara's)
